No catchweight or rehydration clauses for Kovalev. Canelo haters can suck it.

So I've gotten banned a week before for 'posting a troll thread in the boxing forum'

How is this guy not given a ban for spreading clearly 'fake news' at this point...his supposed tweet to back him up only stated that there was no catchweight...yet he is adamant that there is no rehydration limit...lies like this should be given a ban imo...he appeared to knowingly do it, and is spreading fake news to try and create the narrative he wants to be true

Kovalev was officially re-hydrating to 188 and 189 when he hit his prime about 4 years ago. We're to believe he's gone down 9lbs in his mid 30's.

Straight from Kovalev's mouth, he weighed 180lbs on fight night in the 2nd Eleider fight. The article stated he switched up his preparation routine after the 1st loss. Now whether you choose to believe him or not that's up to you. I choose to believe the man himself, if you have other sources stating otherwise please post them.

Here's another quote from Kathy Duva herself after the 2nd Eleider fight.

"Sergey has known since the first Ward fight that he was doing something wrong [in training]," Duva said. "It took him until this camp to do what I wanted him to do, which was to bring in Buddy and Teddy. Sergey ate [on Friday] before the weigh-in. He didn't dehydrate one ounce. He was in great shape."

? She is saying that he trained so well that he didn't have to cut weight right before the weigh in...what does that have to do with how high he re-hydrated?

It's more evidence that he completely changed his preparation routine... This should be enough proof to believe Kovalev himself, he's on record saying that he weighed 180lbs on fight night. If you have other sources stating otherwise feel free to post them.

            When did he say that?

And lol man I'm really not laughing at you...and not even 100% doubting you, as you say there is evidence to the contrary...but to believe that Kov is only re-hydrating to 180 when he cuts to 175...I mean I have literally never heard of or seen such a situation like that...obviously it happens at a weight class where it is not a guy's natural weight...but never seen a natural guy only go up 5 pounds, especially at a high starting weight like 175...5 pounds is only like 3% of his total body weight.

Just seems presposterous, no disrespect though...if he isn't normally in the 190s at least I will be shocked.

He said it after the 2nd Eleider fight. I personally thought he rehydrated to 185-190. All we have is the article and video I posted a few pages ago. I had to translate the web page as it was in Russian. It must be something his trainers were pushing him to do. It obviously works since he hasn't lost since.

Alvarez in this fight has caused you problems?- I missed a couple of nasty blows from my right hand. There were no more difficult things. And I'm tired of the weight race. It so happened that I gained only a couple of kilos and went out hungry.- 81 kg? Very little.- That's why I felt hungry. I had my last meal at eight o'clock in the evening, and I boxed at eleven. That's all right. There is work to do.
This is clearly a rough translation through a translator. Someone who speaks Russian should help us out here. Regardless like I stated before I hope there isn't a rehydration clause.

There is a website that gives some in the ring weights. You have to scroll down to find them.

The following is a resource page for all the publicly issued "rehydration" weights of the sub-heavyweight boxing divisions. Please, bo...

it states kova rehydrated to 183.5 only, and those are weights for fight night.... a second weighin of 10lbs the morning of the fight will not make a difference... hopefully there isnt one, if canelo is smart he will know is not even needed here...

I was very surprised at that weight. I always assumed a fighter with his frame would put on 15 pounds or more . I think the heaviest he ever weighed was 189 for a fight.

People don't get the difference bro, no use explaining it to them. Kov will be around 188-190 come fight night if their truly is no re-hydration clause.

Even with his age I think Canelo might have bitten off more then he can chew. Kov's jab is very very effective and if Canelo thinks he can just walk him down and land "body shots" all night then he is gonna get KO'ed.

I can see Canelo's game plan is to be on his bike until the late rounds and hope Kov gasses out.
