You obviously haven't read the rest of the thread. He was 180lbs on fight night in the 2nd Eleider fight. If he comes in at 188-190 as you state on fight night vs Canelo then a 10lbs next day rehydration limit shouldn't be an issue either because the 2nd day weigh in is typically early in the morning.
No catchweight or rehydration clauses for Kovalev. Canelo haters can suck it.

I may be a GGG 'fan' but I don't hate on Canelo...if he takes on Kovalev at 175 with no clauses I think that is a very ballsy move...people can bicker about who the best is right now at 175 but Kov is still a live dog and imo is still the man to beat until one of the challengers beats him.He said it after the 2nd Eleider fight. I personally thought he rehydrated to 185-190. All we have is the article and video I posted a few pages ago. I had to translate the web page as it was in Russian. It must be something his trainers were pushing him to do. It obviously works since he hasn't lost since.
This is clearly a rough translation through a translator. Someone who speaks Russian should help us out here. Regardless like I stated before I hope there isn't a rehydration clause.
I just think any weight clauses will cause many to not view the win as legit if it does happen...some people will still b.itch that Kov was 'shot' if Canelo wins legit, but they are not to be taken that seriously imo...if he takes him on legit, he deserves credit, win or lose.Comment

Great post man, I completely agree, especially with the bold...also look at how much damage Ward took, even in fight 2, just to try to get inside on Kovalev...and I am no fan of Ward, but he is certainly a tough fighter imo, and is bigger and more used to taking shots from fighters around that weight than Kovalev is.People don't get the difference bro, no use explaining it to them. Kov will be around 188-190 come fight night if their truly is no re-hydration clause.
Even with his age I think Canelo might have bitten off more then he can chew. Kov's jab is very very effective and if Canelo thinks he can just walk him down and land "body shots" all night then he is gonna get KO'ed.
I can see Canelo's game plan is to be on his bike until the late rounds and hope Kov gasses out.
Just have a feeling that Canelo will feel that jab like Ward did in round 1, fight 1, and say oh ****...now what...he will likely be needing to survive those first 4-6 rounds, and that will be a foreign feeling for him, I don't know if the GGG fights will even prepare him for that.Comment

i agree, with all his power and his looks he def seems like a guy who puts some muscle, but thats really nothing, no wonder why his team said they will not have an issue with a rehydration weighin, and if on top of that they get some extra money then they are more than welcome, lol...Comment

How much bigger do haters want Kov to be ???
Why don't you all just watch an early JCC jr fight where he has 50 lb advantages over his opponents and wank yourselves silly.Comment

If you are fighting for a title in a weight division you should fight under the rules. If you don't the win is tainted. If you want to go with catchweights and rehydration clauses go ahead but don't act shocked or offended if others don't agree.Comment

The rules are in the signed contract that the sport of boxing gave it's blessings to.

Well actually, you make an interesting point, that I didn’t really consider.
Kovalev held the IBF title for years also.
On that basis, I would be ok with a 10lb hydration limit, with a secondary weigh in at 8am, which is what Kovalev is used to. Anything more drastic would simply be a tactic by Team CaneloComment

... it's from the 1st Alvarez fight in Aug. 2018... not the second...There is a website that gives some in the ring weights. You have to scroll down to find them.
