  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs and Andre Rozier at Odds Over Money

Trainer Andre Rozier raised a few eyebrows while sitting with a small group of reporters prior to the August 22 kick-off press conference for the upcoming fight between Gennady Golovkin and Sergey Derevyanchenko at Madison Square Garden.

    Say it ain't so..

"leaving some to question whether Daniel received his trainer's full attention in the days leading up to Canelo-Jacobs"

See... this is what I don't like.. who are these people? I haven't heard any rumblings made public.

Not really feeling this article. Seems like it's written to cause friction to me. I see both sides, (Jacobs & Rozier's) I think certain things can be taken out of context. But I'm taking these words with a grain of salt. These things happen more than fans realize behind closed doors. We probably woulda never known of this had this guy not written this article.

I expect people to have the same attitude they did regarding you know who.

If the trainer has been with you for many many fights and especially since you started then allow him to enjoy your success by receiving the 10%.

I get paying something less if a new trainer joins a fighter already earning millions.

But , also, if a trainer is getting his 10% and that translates to $1M for the next fight and he has a stable load of boxers earning pittances then he better be EARNING that $1M by spending virtually every hour with his star boxer in the weeks leading up to the next big payday. He can delegate the training of the rest of his fighters.

Jacobs needs to pay this dude fairly. He been super loyal to jacobs & taking less then 10% tells me all i need to know about the quality of man that Rozier is. There are very few good people in this world, so you should treat the scarce few right who have been good to you

A top trainer deserves that and more if he's been there all alone

I just want to say this, none of these guys would have had Emanuel Stewart then! Go ask Tommy Hearns and Ray Leonard how much Dundee, and those guys were paid. The Eddie Futch and Lou Duva's but think about also the guys they made no money from and trained for years. So it's a flip side to this as well.

Doesn't shock me if true, Danny has always seemed like a high maintenance, tight purse strings kind of guy
