It only works if you have a weak Ref in your pocket.
The tape thing and spitting his mouth gaurd when ever AJ needs a break is so blatant, nothing Savvy about it. Blatant cheating and poor sportsmenship. That has been AJ's recipe since stealing his olympic gold medal.
Sooner or later all frauds get found out.Comment

My suggestion is to strap 5kg dumbbells to your biceps and see how quick and eager you are to lift your arm when getting punched in the face by a short fat Mexican .
AJ is my boy and I always root for him to win but I can’t see him fighting like Pernell and being successful. Even the idea of spitting his mouth guard out is a weasel mindsight. Atleast punch him deliberately in the bullocks and buy time. That way you weaken your opponent in the process or better still get disqualifiedComment

"In the USA AJ will always be known as Anthony "the quitter" Johnson." I see that you are a fortune teller who sees the future. I might be wrong, but that is a stretch even for this forum. Fact is a lot of fighters have lost under su****ion that they gave up in a particular fight and are not forever known as a "quitter. This includes Mike Tyson who remembered as a fearsome puncher and an all time great. If Joshua blasts Ruiz into oblivion or even handles him easily, the first fight will be less than a footnote in the history books.Comment

I don't think you can ever say someone quit who told the ref that he wanted to continue fightingComment

Ruiz better believe that Joshua will be jabbing and moving all night long. He's not gonna stand and trade like in the first fight. Ruiz will have to chase Joshua down. If he waits to counter in exchanges he'll have a long night in there, Joshua isn't the perfect boxer/mover, but he can do enough of it to beat someone that heavy on his feet like Ruiz, we saw that in the first couple of rounds already before Joshua got reckless.
Hopefully both come in prepared, i'm starting to lean towards Joshua as I feel like Ruiz isn't having the right mentality about the whole thing.
Ruiz footwork isnt on equal ground as his handspeed, and IMHO his ACTUAL handspeed isnt all that impressive either. Its his ability to throw his "punches in bunches" conbinations that gives the appearance he has fast hands. Up until the point Joshua got hit with the infamous "punch from the gods", he was beating Ruiz Jr. he was nearly always beating him "to the punch".
I've been hearing mostly about how Joshua needs to fight "long and tall", or he's going to need to "run" or needs to make sweeping changes for rematch, but I personally don't think its all that complicated.
IMO if he implements a couple things, he should end up breaking down Ruiz Jr to win and even possibly a late KO/TKO. And it does involve fighting inside as so many seem to suggest he needs to avoid like the plague.😁
Fight the fight like the beginning of the 1st fight, "tiddied up" of course.
He needs to mix in pivoting around Ruiz Jr. more rather than just backstep away, then he can keep him off rhythm and guessing more. Joshua's feet are quick enough to take advantage, and Ruiz Jr. finds success with exchanges while opponents are backing off and he lunges forward with his combinations.
Pick his spots for short exchanges inside with a tighter guard and dont get careless like in the 1st fight. When Joshua knocked Ruiz Jr down for the 1st time in his career, it was during a crisp, short inside exchange. He has the skills and ability to beat Ruiz Jr inside also. IMO, he just needs to avoid being careless and staying in the pocket for extended exchanges.
Also, I'd like to say to the countless people that are adamant Ruiz Jr. Repeats in the same fashion and that Joshua has been "exposed"............ Evidently the bookmakers around the globe have failed to heed your predictions even after having witnessed the 1st fight.
Hmmmm, makes you wonder how those idiots can make money right?? 😅Comment

I don't think Joshua quit, but he was trying to get some extra recovery time for free and the ref was wise to it on this occasion. He did it against Parker with the loose tape when he was in danger of gassing and got away with it that time. One of those "dark arts" tactics that only work if you are savvy about using them.Comment
