Every pro fighter will do something similar at some point in their career. Like I said; it's one of those "dark arts", the trick is knowing the ref's limits and not getting caught out. The list is endless, lol.

Spitting a gumshield halfway across the ring and "forgetting" it's not in your mouth until the ref checks you're ready to contnue.
Noticing an untied shoelace only after the round has started, same with loose glove tape -the forgotten gumshield trick works here as well.
Trainer leaving stool in the corner, or spilling water on the canvas.
A well-timed "accidental" low blow or clash of heads.
An "accidental" slip, or tackling of opponent.
False complaint of foul-play to the ref.
Excess clinching and/or pinning opponents arms.
Ali's ultimate.. the "damaged gloves" and delayed replacement.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, anyone know any more?

      Joshua did say yes!!

He did answer yes that he wanted to continue.

However the first 3 knock downs Joshua followed the the referees instructions and joshua even put his hands up in fight position the first 3 times!!

that being said the 4th knock down Joshua did spit out his mouth piece he did not follow the referees instructions he walked away from the referee he did not hold his gloves up like he did the 1st 3 times. and he did not walk toward the referee

At this point i think Anthony Joshua knew the fight was over but he was not about Quit on his own and he did clearly say yes he wanted to continue. Anthony Joshua was going to go out on his shield and the referee saved him.

so in conclusion Anthony Joshua knew the fight was over and he was game for getting knocked out!! the referee made the right choice and as you can see anthony joshua is a real man and he is not contesting the referees call!!

Props to all Heavy weights Tyson Fury, Andy Ruiz, Anthony Joshua, Deyontay Wilder. all are Great champions in and out of the ring i like them ALL!!

Yeah yeah, we will see. Joshua was undoubtedly uncomfortable, let’s not forget that this was not the opponent he trained for and was taken lightly (lol)
On that occasion the challenger capitalised On a number of factors in his favour and well done.
The rematch will be completely different ending with this “Cinderella man” laying out cold watching pizzas doing a merry go round above his head.

As per usual too many disillusioned fans. Ruiz Jr is a much superior boxer and Joshua doesn’t have the IQ to beat him. Joshua better hope that he sucker punches Ruiz for a knockout or ref stops it early because Joshua does not possess any real boxing skill. If he had even a little he should have been able to make the adjustments and change tactics to fight from distance use his range and keep Ruiz away the problem for Joshua is he simply doesn’t possess the ring craft - it’s like Mike Tyson said “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face” Joshua May start off with some make shift game plan but after 3 rounds it will be out the window and he will be running around the ring getting schooled. I’m absolutely delighted by that prediction because right now in this era we are in over hyped make shift individuals that couldn’t stand up to a mild breeze.

Joshua you have had so much smoke blown up your ass you can’t see straight there’s only one way -> head for big bear in your silk pyjamas mate it’s game over for the great commercial hype.

For what fight was Ruiz training for, before getting Joshua's call?

Hello sir, its always good to read your posts up hear and to know your brain cells are unique in defending and smashing opinions up here.....I hope Joshua actually bounces back with a win, but after those knockdowns?? Hearn might stand a better chance .

I'm really not into underestimating anyone, so lets see what Josh's robotics can do against such a large fast target. I think disciplined range fighting tall can get the job done. A boring fight should be on the horizon and Joshua should settle for it - not every fight needs to be exciting....

Do kinda like what Kell Brook did to Porter. And a "little" like what Holyfield did to Tyson (minus the resting of his huge alien head in Tysons face and the ram head butting). Joshua may simply have to ask himself WWKD?! 'What would Klitschko do' in a situation like this? I think I know, and I think Klitschko would win.....albeit in boring fashion...

Well said, those you've mentioned seem to be in the gym always!, taking this "sport" more seriously than the majority of current heavyweights.... I don't know if he quit with those wierd 4th rnd kd antics - maybe he did (I can see how people think he did), but he sure did answer the ref quickly to 'continue' - maybe knowing the ref wouldnt allow it to continue based on what he saw.......Joshua did himself no favors by malfunctioning

I think he could feel that his body wasn't offering him the tools to continue, but couldn't bring himself to outright quit. Basically, the mind was willing, but the body was spent.
