why did Fury sign with ESPN instead of immediate rematch with Wilder?

He made 8 figures to fight Schwarz and another 8 figures to fight WallinComment

Because he was damn near decapitated in their first bout. In addition, the man is scared shit less of Wilder and is afraid and so full of lies and excuses on why it has taken him more than a year; 14 months to be exact to have ever step back inside of a boxing ring to challenge Deontay Wilder again. Wilder is going to fuck him up the next time. I can guarantee you that. Fury can run but he cannot hide.Comment

Wilder's power put fear into Fury's heart. And Wilder did mention he planned on coming in bigger for the second fight. I think that scared the **** out of Fury. He had a massive weight advantage on Wilder in the first fight and still couldn't hurt Wilder. Oh and he got knocked on his ass twice. He's scared, would rather waste his career away fighting bums than a risk another fight with Wilder.Comment

He took a huge payday, and which any of us would do.
ESPN wanted a heavyweight champion to help grow the espn+ app so that’s why he’s doing his America tour before the rematch.Comment

The same reason why NFL players dont want to play on a one year franchise tag for a **** load of money when they can get a potential guaranteed multi year contract elsewhere.Comment

Wilder brings in no money , why would Fury decline a deal offer worth 80/ 100 million for easier fights and then Wilder rematch which he gets more off his contract ? This should be common sense.
The Arum deal itself came about bc of Wilder unwillingness to go to the U.K for a rematch and stalled the fight long enough for Warren and Drum to make deals so it's on Wilder if he wanted that fight so bad.
Those saying Fury ran are just plain dumb., when he took the fight in the first place that he wasn't supposed to win .
