Canelo is a true champ , a living legend. if he beats kovalev he wld b the second to own championship belts in 3 weight classes at the same time. only armstrong did that. lets all bow down to canelo’s greatness.
It’s only jack asses who think Kovalov is a joke. Bread, Fat Dan, Dougie Fisch and a whole lot more know Kovalov is the real deal. He’s arguably the best LHW. Bivol and Bieterbiev both had major problems with fringe contenders and I would put $$$ on Kov beating them. Heck he has more KO’s then they have fights combined. Kovalov listens to his trainer is a tough out for ANYONE.

I would say even Elidier would have a great shot of beating either on as well

Yup! They finally agreed to let Canelo fight Andrade but Canelo had take $5million less. That was posted by Dan Rafael in one of his tweets.

I never once said he was dog s***. I just think there are multiple better options than him right now at 160, 168 and 175. He's probably the 7th best option throughout all of those weight classes. Especially when you consider that he's 36,was ko'd within the last yr, just fought 2 weeks ago in a tough fight, and now would have to go back into camp within a week to fit in an 8 week camp. Meanwhile canelo is 29, hasn't fought since may in a fight where neither guy inflicted any real punishment on the other. This seem like a fair scenario to you?

Canelo has been great for Golden Boy. Remember that most of the top-notch fighters GB had jumped ship and went with Haymon when Oscar was in his doped up fog for all those years. Were it not for Canelo staying with Golden Boy, they would have become irrelevant.

It appears that you are more of a fanboy than a boxing fan. It is about boxing, less about cheerleading for one boxer or another. I say this as a baseball fan who watched the White Sox play even when they were not playing the Yankees or the Red Sox. Worse yet, I watched the Cubs play when they had little chance of winning. It is the sport itself that is important. The players come and go.

I get he is not what he once was and that Alvarez has wicked body work that is the key to beating Kovalev. I am not "all in" or anything. But this is a better technical Kovalev in the ring in his past two fights. He took some HARD shots from Yarde and stayed upright and played the fight perfect.

In Kovalev's mind, this is his last real chance to erase some of the bad from the Ward losses. I think he will be focused, in shape, and smart. I think the reach advantage, the equal experience in big fights, and the fact that Alvarez does not have all that much better tools than Kovalev sets this up nicely for Sergey. Alvarez is a more complete fighter and will ensure he has the advantages he wants. But right now, I say Alvarez may get way more than he is bargaining for from a not quite washed up naturally bigger and stronger fighter.
You are right, this is not an easy fight for Canelo. It is 50/50 at best. I favor Kovalev at this point. If Kovalev is considered old now, then there is no point in Canelo fighting GGG, because GGG is older than Kovalev. Folks should get a grip and understand that this is a very interesting match-up.

Because is Canelo fighting him, if it was Andrade, Jacobs, GGG, Charlo or Juice Saunders it would be just fine. I bet any of this idiots/haters Kovalev beats all the aforementioned boxers relatively confortable, and I think vs Canelo is a 50/50 fight, as a matter of fact I think is a 55-45 Kovalev.

Just keep fighting the weakest champion and the plan will work out. 🥊
