Anyone concerned that it's *not* going to be the Kovalev fight? Reading the article, Oscar sounds very whiny - as if Kovalev's team aren't giving in to every concession that GBP wants, and he's threatening to give the fight to someone else. Canelo-Andrade coming up?

But I bet that would be a HELL of a fight! And if odds right I would take Kov then
I don't see GGG, Charlo, Andrade or any of the other great pretenders saying they want to fight Kovalev. Kovalev seems very focused now. I am glad he now has Buddy McGirt as his trainer.

Once again the cheat needed a 10lbs rehydration clause against Fielding. And Jacobs. Would anyone be surprised if he wants it again here? Fielding has come in as heavy as 180.

You are more optimistic about Canelo's chances than I am and I like Canelo. I think he is good for boxing. But Kovalev might the proverbial "bridge too far" for him. I hope the fight gets made.

GGG got his face broken in the second fight. He was sent to the shadow realm for 9 months, in that same time Canelo got a title at 168 and unified middleweight titles against Jacobs. You need to move on like GGG appears to have done.
Read my post, it's about risk taken, not about a possible future fight.
Of course Alvarez fans think Chavez and Fielding were risky fights.
The diva aint ducking, he just don't like GGG. :-)

Kovalev was p4p top 3 as recent as 2 years ago.

Who cares about ggg!? He isn't fighting anyone ranked... He isn't moving up or down in weight... He has not sought out any challenges.

Get over your emotional crying love for ggg. You got conned by the hype job, the good but not great champion.
Canelo is actually doing things that are challenging! It's like Mayweather all over again.. People just hate the top guy no matter what.

Canelo was junior middleweight 2 years ago... He's not going to lhw. Get over yourselves... No one in boxing is doing this except him.

That would be best for Kovalev's career. He just went to war with Yarde. If they want to fight Kovalev's corpse 10 weeks later, they need to pay him for it especially when Canelo-Kovalev is a bigger fight than Canelo-Jacobs and Jacobs got $12.5M. Otherwise Kovalev should look to unify three LHW titles with the Gvozdyk-Beterbiev winner in 2020 after a proper rest and a full training camp.
