Fielding and Chavez Jr. are the only times Canelo has fought above 160. This is what makes the Kovalev fight such a dangerous one. Does he have the power to hurt Kovalev? Does his chin hold up? How will he overcome his reach disadvantage when Kovalev jabs at him all night? I can see why Oscar De La Hoya seems reluctant to follow through with it. Fighting Kovalev at 175 with no catchweight is infinitely riskier than fighting GGG for a third time. If he pulls this off, he instantly becomes fighter of the decade.
Fools forget Chavez TKO'd Andy Lee who went life and death with Saunders. And fielding was at least somewhat of a champ? Last I looked Rolls and Vanes never won any REAL belts. Fielding won the WBA belt.

"113-113, 114-112 & 115-111 in favour of Saunders over Andy Lee by majority decision"

"Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. knocks out Andy Lee in seventh round"

True. When Clenero and Golden Shower Promotions is involved, their will always be some kind of shenanigans going on.Kovalev would had to knock down Clenero twice to get at least a draw.

How in the world can we believe Canelo and team postponed the September date because there was a lack of "suitable opponents" when you had guys like GGG, Andrade, Smith, and others waiting in the wings. Could it be that Canelo is cycling off something and needed the extra time? It just doesn't make sense when you definitely had options to fight in September. The funny thing is, he'll end up fighting those fighters that at some point were not suitable opponents.
I'll go with Clenero cycling off the best Peds money can buy. That's the only thing that makes sense.

Yeah, I'm not dis*****g that at all. I was more questioning whether DLH is "seriously" negotiating with any fighters other than kovalev atm.

In case you don't know a KD counts as a 10-8 round most of the time. If Kov. knocks Canelo down even once it's a wrap...

I'll give you 3-1 odds mouth that Canelo doesn't get dropped like you say? Don't be scurred your fat mouth said it not me...

Especially when you consider that he's 36,was ko'd within the last yr, just fought 2 weeks ago in a tough fight, and now would have to go back into camp within a week to fit in an 8 week camp. Meanwhile canelo is 29, hasn't fought since may in a fight where neither guy inflicted any real punishment on the other. This seem like a fair scenario to you?
Canelo 55 fights and went pro 10-29-2005

Kovalov 38 fights and went pro 7-25-2009

I do agree Kov. is taking this fight to soon but also who has Canelo KO'd at 160??? Let alone 175??? And Kovalov has REAL KO's against guys that come in EASY as Cruiserweights. I get you HATE Canelo but come on?? To say Kov. is easy work is BEYOND ******.

Kovalev probably weights around 190 pounds in the ring at his present age. That's why a rehydration limit is going to hurt him badly. He's not "easy' work even with the typical Canelo ploy of limiting the opponents natural fighting weight. With a weight limit it does make Canelo's job a lot easier don't you agree??

Give me these limits? Is this like Jacobs who got 170 and still missed it?? *** Why do they have to come in 15-25 lbs over the limit to fight a 5'6" EX 140 lber??? Isn't that being a WEIGHT BULLY you HYPOCRITE???
