Is it contradictory to say that Ruiz is rightfully the number one ranked heavyweight given he beat Joshua (the previous number one) but that he still thinks that he got lucky in landing on him in Round 3?

You might not agree with parts of that statement but it stacks up, and in context it looks like that was what he was saying. Or at least trying to say.
How can he say he’s “not skilful” then say he’s the “best HW out there”. If Ruiz isn’t skilful what makes him the best? Athleticism????

Did he “get lucky” 4 times????

      Hahaha It’s completely delusional...

What makes him the best? He holds three belts and just beat the consensus number one. It was in the post you quoted.

As I said, feel free to disagree with the opinion and have fun with AJ's clunky use of language, but it stacks up.

Except AJ is not consensus number one, the jury is still out between Fury, Wilder and AJ. Those are the big three.

If Ruiz got lucky, that doesn't make him the best, that makes him the holder of the belts, and nothing more. The man makes the belt, not the other way around. What AJ is saying is nonsensical.

Joshua is Hearn 's meat puppet.

He has made the classic mistake of trying to think / speak for himself without support from the Matchroom PR team.

He is beginning to sound exactly like Khan does...

Prior to June 1st there wasn't one credible resource that didn't rank Joshua number one. Three belts and the best resume. You can doubt his ability, but there was a consensus. Not opinion, not eye test, but rankings.

Ruiz beat him. The idea that it makes him the current best isn't nonsensical - it's an opinion. Yes, it's an opinion to sell a fight, but it's still a valid enough opinion.

As I said, feel free to disagree with him, but using words like nonsensical (which means it doesn't make any sense) or illogical (which means there is no logic that could back it up) isn't correct.

You disagree. As it happens, so do I. That's a completely different thing.

OK OK, you got me, it's not nonsensical what AJ is saying. Actually, it makes a lot of sense if you bear in mind the idea that AJ is unwilling to face facts

Being lucky and being the best may not technically be mutually exclusive, but they sure as hell don't tend to travel together well. And the opinion that Ruiz is the best in the division right now is an objectively poor opinion, regardless of belts or anything else. As I said, THE BELTS DON'T MAKE THE MAN. That is why, for many, Fury is still top of the division. And as you said, it's all a matter of opinion. As it happens, I don't care what the rankings say. Yarde was mandatory last week... which goes to show the corruption involved in rankings

And what allowed him to beat AJ and hold 3 belts???
                  His skill...

It’s contradictory. After the fight it was “full credit to Andy and his team”, “No excuses”. Now it’s a “punch from the gods”.

                    Exactly this...

AJ can’t have it both ways.

That’s one of the first things I thought😂😂

                      It’s becoming very Khan-esque...
