Because Wilder is a PPV fighter now; at least, the money needed to get a star the level of Wilder to fight is more than one should expect a broadcaster to put up for regular TV.

Fury fight was the first one, the Breazeale fight would've been the second (Showtime dug deep to keep the fight on TV), Ortiz 2 is the next one, and if he gets through that fight (who knows what the actual details of the deal are) we may end up with a joint FOXPPV/SHOPPV/ESPNPPV event, with Wilder targeting the rest of the belts in a PPV fight as well (Anthony Joshua isn't beholden to DAZN, and neither is Ruiz Jr).

Why wasn't the Breazeale fight on PPV ? He tried getting it but received severe backlash from the boxing community . The same thing will happen here.

He's southpaw, still sharp on the tactics/reflexes, can crack, and walks into any fight with the ability to keep a real hard pace for 8-10 rounds before the fade starts to creep in (and that's only if you make him work; with no resistance, likely still has the jets to get through 15).

Guillermo Rigondeaux, even at the age that he is, is still the best fighter in the planet at 122lbs, and the only fighter today who may counter that if "Monster" Inoue.

Wilder follows AJ around and his whole career in the last 3 years has always been about chasing clout off AJ. Isn't he ashamed of himself? Watch AJ freeze him out if he wins because even Hearn might end up dropping a belt when he wins the rematch. He doesn't really need belts at this stage of his career and Wilder will become irrelevant after that.

There's no way I'm doing PPVs anymore with the current Dazn and ESPN apps , it would have to be a special fight and Ortiz isn't one of them against anyone.

You mean Wilder made almost 70% of ShowTime's budget in one fight in a fight that isn't PPV? LMAO. So, how much did Breazeale make since he's entitled to 30% of the split? And where did ShowTime get money for the fight promo and hosting the fight? What about the other fights on ShowTime this year - how did they pay for those fights? Showtime's budget for 2019 is $30million.

AJ made £30million for his last fight. Convert that to dollars, lol. And for this fight - he's going to end up with over $100million when it's said and done. Heck, I'm hearing rumours that UK PPV is going to be £49.99. If he sells the projected 2million PPV buys - that's going to be £100million from UK PPV alone. DAZN money should be around at least $30million. Then you have the international broadcasting rights to over 150 countries and also the Saudi Arabia site fee which is $84million.

And you know for damn sure that the UK isn't paying two and a half times the current max UK rate for an Andy Ruiz fight, but more importantly a fight not in the UK (likely dealing with time adjustments as well).
