except no one is waiting for joshua to piggyback. who really believes such crap? i know people in the uk spout this nonsense but that isn’t the case.

the announcement is next week for two reasons: to avoid any joshua crap (which doesnt matter since the ruiz-joshua got absolutely no buzz this week) and, more important, to use spence-porter and that media attention. i bet any amount of money the press conference tour begins during spence-porter fight week.

So they aren’t piggybacking on Joshua but they are piggybacking on Spence/Porter.... Yeah even American boxing social media (The sane ones) have been saying the same thing over the last few days. I don’t see Fury waiting for Lomachenko to announce anything. I don’t see Joshua waiting for any Matchroom fights to announce anything.

It’s not a coincidence that Wilder comes out every time Joshua has something going on. Trying to use the “Only UK” Blah Blah Blah uses that is just laughable.

Wilder himself has been quoted as in wanting to fight Ruiz “If something doesn’t come off with the Joshua rematch” which means he is waiting to see if that fight happens or not. Now that the fight is going forward, he is now securing a date for a fight that he himself announced in May... yeah

Joshua tried when Miller popped hot, but Ortiz's promoter wanted more money, said they were low balling, Hearn threatened to release correspondence, Ortiz claimed he wasn't kept in the loop and was happy with the offer, manager apologized, whole team looked like amateurs. I think that's a pretty fair summary.

Anyway, short version is Joshua tried, lot of speculation on why Ortiz would possibly turn it down but bad management was the scapegoat given, drug testing was a popular alt theory with some.

Ortiz's lose and Ruiz's gain in the end.

Now I don't see it either given that Wilder didn't make that much for the Fury fight which was on PPV.

Well, since the PBC folks are holding on to that belief that Wilder made as much as they say he did for the Showtime fight in May, they can put him on Showtime and "supposedly" pay him that same amount. It may have been mentioned here before, but I doubt that Wilder could have made what is claimed under that Showtime budget when it is 25% of the annual budget that DAZN has. I talked with a trainer of a fighter that has been in talks with these networks and he was told that Showtime matched DAZN's offer to Wilder for fighting Breazeale...but that trainer and his fighter have been put on the shelf by that same network when they want certain fights to be made.
I think people just made that up because of the DAZN offer. There's no way Showtime would've been able to afford to pay him that type of money without PPV. Also, when you consider the ridiculous amount they spent on the publicity/advertisement of the fight and how it flopped at the gate and viewing - I'd be surprised if he got paid half of that amount.

If Showime had that crazy amount of money to throw around for a fight like that - I'm sure Wilder vs Ortiz II would be on Showtime and not Fox PPV.

You don't have to be from the UK or a Joshua fan to notice the timing of these things, I mean if you haven't picked up this by now you really need to start paying attention.

It's not even a knock on Wilder, like it or not for the last couple years Joshua is the money man in the division, that's simply the facts, Wilder's biggest possible pay day was a unification with Joshua.

How much do you think Ruiz v Joshua 2 generates, if the site fee is $40M as reported it could be a $100M+ event. Now ask yourself what Wilder v Ortiz 2 will generate.

Wilder is almost on the money; he handles his business and performs well, he's on the money in two fights.

Wilder's punch is heavy enough that he can ride the next 5 years on that.

If Joshua wants to stay in Europe, stay in Europe
There's no perfect boxer and every boxer is beatable. Styles make fights and if AJ had chosen boxers that match his style - he'd look unbeatable and like Ali. Imagine if AJ was fighting bums and fillers like Fury and Wilder - he'd look like the second coming of Joe Louis.

Wilder shows he's beatable in almost all his fights, even against bums. He was out on his feet against Ortiz and the ref/doctors saved him. He lost against Fury. And Breazeale also stunned him with a grazing hook before the idiot decided to walk into a big right with his chin up and guard down whilst trying to block punches with his face.

When he's not running for 12 rds, Fury looks beatable against the handful of half-decent boxers he has faced as well. McDermott beat him up in their first fight. He struggled against Chisora in their first fight. Hugged and ran from Wlad for 12 rds. And Wilder scored 2 KDs against him in one fight.

However, how come you lot only focus on AJ's vulnerability when every boxer out there is vulnerable? Lomachenko with all the hype has been knocked down a few times in his career by average boxers and he just struggled against Luke Campbell. Floyd Mayweather for all his greatness had a few close fights in his career that could've gone either way and he was stunned by Maidana in their first fight and the bell saved him from getting knocked out. It's boxing and it's meant to happen.

In the heavyweight division - Wilder is actually the most vulnerable boxer. If any decent HW catches him clean, it's lights out. And there's a reason why he ducks almost everyone with a sting.

AJ is a brand and even if he keeps losing - he'd make more money than the other heavyweights. His brand is bigger than Amir Khan's and despite how washed Khan is - he's still one of the top earners in the welterweight division. So even if he loses the rematch (which I don't see happening in a million years) - he just needs to beat any half-decent boxer that's a good style matchup for him and he'd be back in the mix.

Unlike the last time when he only saw Ruiz once before the fight and he had almost concluded training camp and was in America when Ruiz became his opponent - his sole focus right now is Ruiz. He's going to be himself and mix it up in the ring. And I'd be shocked if Ruiz lands anything clean in the fight.

This is why whenever someone point this out we have people like yourself who reply with “Joshua got KTFO” and crying over people speaking the truth about Wilder and his BS.

Why are his demographics this dumb? I really don’t get it. Are all of you uneducated? Or what? Even if am a Joshua fan I wouldn’t even better reply in threads like this. But Wilder fans would make sure they defend and reply to you when they know you are speaking to truth, and their replies is always about “Joshua lost get over it”.... like females. Who gives a sh it about someone else losing except females?
This nerd keeps talking about education like this is college. You can barely form a proper sentence. Sit down clown! LMAO. Stop trying to ignore the fact that you AJ fanboys been acting like little sissies every since Roid AJ got beat up and embarrassed in America. A feminine trait is crying like a little girl, which is exactly what you’re doing.

Who gives a sh it about someone else losing except females?

Hmmmm! I don’t know, maybe Boxing fans? Are you retàrded? You’re asking who cares about losing on a boxing forum. I should be asking you who cares about education on a boxing forum.

Not sure what this even means!! You sure you want to talk about education?

That’s the thing you can **** on about Joshua all you want, that doesn’t change the fact that Wilder and his demographics are a bunch of uneducated fools. You epitomise that exact demographics that he caters to. It is a female trait to be clout chasing and this is exactly what hurts you. You can call everyone that calls out his piggyback attention seeking attitude all you want, that doesn’t change the fact that he uses other boxers like Joshua to gather attention for his name, his name alone mean nothing, apart from baffoons like yourself.

Showtime just committed $200m to $250m, over the next 4 years, for PBC events.

And you know for damn sure that the UK isn't paying two and a half times the current max UK rate for an Andy Ruiz fight, but more importantly a fight not in the UK (likely dealing with time adjustments as well).

Why do you feel the need to lie about obvious stuff?
LMAO. Where did Showtime get $200 to $250 from? If it had that type of money, it would be invested in basketball or NFL. Showtime is a small cable network - not Fox or ESPN.

PBC has a $60million/yr contract with Fox and there's a reason why most PBC fights are on Fox. They just throw the crumbs at Showtime. So, if Fox is getting all the prime fights from PBC for $60m/yr - how much do you think Showtime's contract with PBC is? It's just common sense.

I said it's a rumour. And trust me if the UK PPV gets increased to £49.99 for that fight - it's still going to do crazy numbers. It's a real primetime fight that will start between 8-10ish.

Can’t win with lies. Only 5,000 people showed up to Fury last fight. No one wants to see a boring crackhead dance around the ring and stick his tongue out all night. D7-D987-E9-E4-DF-446-A-84-B1-DF350-CFF95-BF

Views were so bad that didn’t even release them. Compared to Wilder Breazeale which was exciting and had 13K fans in attendance with nearly 1million viewers.
Maybe not the best numbers but certainly better than the PED cheater Fury.

This was hilarious. All 12 viewers lol! B03721-AD-85-E9-4143-8-EBA-49-A28-A91-AB6-A

No matter what you say at the end of the day Wilder is more exciting and hasn’t been caught using PEDs doe
