When there is too much talk before a fight about the fighter's weight, it never fills me with confidence.

Robles is a shrewd trainer. When Ruiz turns up for camp, he is not going to focus on weight loss unless it positively adds something to Ruiz's fighting; even if Ruiz seems concious of it and would like to lose the weight for aesthetic reasons.

All I will say in his defence is that his mouth guard was not in his mouth. Yes he spit it out on purpose and yes it was probably best for his career if the referee stopped it when he did, However, he can’t step forward without his mouth guard. He already stated he wanted to continue and those vital extra seconds he tried to abuse in the hope the referee would notice, put his mouth guard and the fight continues. He deserved to lose and was probably happy the fight was stopped but I don’t think he quit. Just my 50 p

The ref knew about the mouthguard, it was in the refs hand lol. I'm positive that had Joshua stepped forward, he would have been given his gum shield. But I'm glad we're on the same page for about 95% of it lmfao

I swear, if you guys would stop acting like women on here, we could have amazing debates. But you guys let your hatred of a fighter cloud your judgement. Ruiz was NEVER unbeatable and he is in worse shape now that he's gotten fat and rich. He'll be a fat cow brought to slaughter on fight night. You guys act like AJ didn't knock Ruiz down first. Had he not gone for the kill right away, he could have jabbed his way to a victory. But he didn't, he got caught, and that's why we are here again. The second fight will be a completely different story. So when Ruiz says "it will be the same as the first fight", he's fooling himself. And he's making fools out of you guys too
I have to agree with you to some degree, the fandom on here gets out of control routinely, not much objectivity.

I also agree that Ruiz is not unbeatable, and looks much fatter than last time.

I think he does not view AJ as a threat, it's the opposite of the first fight, and that's why AJ could swallow Ruiz in December, it's very possible on that fact alone.

In the meantime, AJ has lost a considerable amount of weight, he looks like a different person.

Andy has great boxing fundamentals, losing weight won’t improve that but maybe he’ll be able to sustain a higher work rate for longer. If he could have done that against Parker he would have won on the cards, though I thought he did enough anyway to get the nod.
Ruiz is going to need to win clearly if this rematch goes the distance. These “neutral” judges won’t be giving him any more of the close rounds than they did in the first fight.

AJ needs to master a JAB, its the best weapon for a toll big fighter. He should get Wlad involved, one of the best jabs in history...

I think Andy will become less special if he tones up. That fat adds weight and power.

Same for Joshua. I think if he becomes lighter he loses power. Joshua has always had very good power but it was never huge power. He needs his power to stop people rushing him because his chin is very vulnerable if he can't keep them away he becomes easy to beat.

I think AJ needs to look at the way he fought rather than his conditioning or shape. He has always fought short opponents the wrong way. He needs to fix that instead

Without a consistant jab aj will have trouble again, after 4 rounds his jab and hands drop very low, his jab becomes a very lazy n weak jab to the boby..... I see hes lost some muscle maybe that will help, its hard keeping that big azz arm up for 7 rounds let alone 12
