Margarito vs Williams=All Time Great Fight?

Margarito is scheduled to fight Rivera but he better not or he is a *****. You can say whatever you want about Floyd but the fact is he has fought some very elite guys and Margarito hasnt fought anything close to that. I think Callazo, Zab, Williams, and Quintana will all fight him but there is one problem.

You may have noticed that they are all Southpaws and most if not all of them are slick and no one wants to fight them. Margarito just had big time trouble with Santos. You may say that Santos is much bigger then these guys but you could also argue that these guys are more skilled then Santos.

I think Zab would be a great fight but you cant trust Zab so it could end up being a stinker similar to the Baldy fight. I think Quintana maybe a beast but he has only beaten a green Julio and it could also "possibly" be a stinker if things go wrong. Callazo was a champ and some think he still is. He is very skillful and would probally be my 1st choice if Margarito wanted a real fight. The problem with him is he isnt as fast and he still let Hatton swarm him at times so Margarito could probally do even better.

Then you get to Williams. Williams is exactly like Quintana in that he has only beaten a green guy but he will have fought Mitchell by then and his style is awesome. I say **** the fight of the year, I honestly believe that this fight has All Time Great written all over it. Im talking about Hagler-Hearns type **** without the elite status.

Think about these guys style. I rewatched the Williams fight and I loved the way he came straight out the corner throwing. He threw about 10 punches in the 1st 15 seconds of the fight. You never see that anymore. Margarito usally comes out kind of slow but by round 2 he is throwing bombs at a high rate. Margarito towers over everyone at 5'11 but Williams is a insane 6'1. Both of these guys love to throw over a 100 punches a round. Williams is a lefty while Margarito is a righty. Then you have the fact that they sparred together and think they know eachother.

You combine all that and you have one of the most exciting fights in history. Imagine these 2 WW Giants fighting eacother & throwing non stop bombs. I imagine that this will be one of those fights were there will be alot of rounds where both guys get hurt and hit by alot of blind punches. One minute Williams will be killing Margarito and have him done but then Margarito will come back and have Williams done. Im talking Hagler-Hearns, Gatti-Ward, Chico-Castillo ****.

This is a must see fight. You will never see 2 action packed guys like this who throw punches non stop, who have freakish height, and fight with different hands. If Margarito beats Williams then he will be rated high and Floyd would really look like a chump for not fighting him because this fight will be so exciting that everyone will be a Margarito fan if he wins

Williams has a terrible defense, he gets hit way too easy and Margarito would put him away within 7.

He does have terrible defense but 99% of guys who throw a 100 punches do. Margarito has the same defense. Dont tell me that Margarito is hard to find and dont tell me that if a lefty catches you right, then you wont be hurt.

I share sentiments with Big Pop. The fight would probably be very fun while it lasted, but eventually the class and toughness of Margarito would outshine that of Williams.

          margartio would get punished

The Punisher would crush margarito within 10 rounds. I think margarito's power is ovverated since he normally fights smaller fighters his power would look awesome, but when he is matched with someone physically his superior you will find he his quite the ordinary boxer.

This does have the ingredients for a great fight. Two big welterweight volume punchers with power.Margarito would probably win but it still sounds like a very exciting fight.

Historically, it has not proven to be true that Tony looks 'ordinary' when put against guys near his size.

I can think of two fighters that have beaten margarito and they are both jr middleweights by the name of rodney jones (#1 contender for wba title) and Daniel "the puerto rican sensation" Santos. Margarito lost those fights to guys his own weight and now like most mexican fighters he is stuck at one weight where he is running out of time just like fernando vargas. You can only drain yourself down for a certain amountof time before it catches up to you, that's why baldo won't be floyd.

The Jones fight was years ago, and Tony was outweighed by at least 10 lbs vs Santos, who admittedly blew up to 170+ for their rematch.

Also, Cintron was bigger than Tony. Lewis was as big. Tony has nowhere near the trouble making 147 that Vargas hasmaking 154, period. if you think so, you're just wrong.
