Sure you can lose close, competitive fights against elite opponents. But this fight wasn't close, competitive nor was it against an elite opponent. Erik Morales got utterly destroyed by C-Level boxer who never won a world title in his career. Erik was not in his prime anymore.

You can get dominated in a sport competition while still being in your prime. And you can do so against opponents whom are held to a lower ranking or an underdog to you.

Pacquiao brings wars to his opponents. A fight with him in his prime could really shorten a boxer’s career.

But the thing is, Zahir Raheem dominated Erik Morales four months before Pacquio-Morales ll. So Morales wasn't in his prime when Pacquiao beat him, which crushes the myth that Pacquiao only fought opponents in their prime. Also, this raises questions for Pacquiao, like why didn't he fight the winner of the Raheem-Morales fight?

Also, Danny Garcia was the wone to retire Erik Morales. Vyacheslav Senchenko was the one who retired Ricky Hatton. Broner and Thurman aren't retired, Antonio Margarito went on to fight four more times.

There never was a myth that Pac only fought opponents in their prime. Nobody in boxing history ever did that. You seem to be going out of your way to trash Pacquiao because e is not black. Pac didn't fight Raheem because there was no money in it and he wanted revenge on Morales. Nobody but a fool doubt Pac would have easily beaten Raheem because Raheem never did anything special after beating Morales while Pac went on to become a legend and he deserves to be a legend.
