Malignaggi was never great because he got his ass kicked every time he stepped up. He lost to Cotto, Hatton, Khan, and Porter.

No. Paulie had a lot of flaws in his game
and had a very basic style with no back up plan. That is why he was never the top guy in any weightclass. He might sc**** by a decision here and there but against an actual contender or champ he will always come up short.
This is also not mentioning his lack of physical strength. Even though he didn't have power on his punches he also lacked any strength to get guys respect on the inside. Not sure if ever worked on becoming stronger but it sure seem like he never did.
His claim to fame will be going the distance with Cotto which means other fighters wanted to box him to see if they could stop him and one up Cotto to boost their resume.
I don't mean to downtalk his career but to me Paulie's biggest setback was himself. He always seemed to arrogant and too much of a know it all to improve his obvious weaknesses when he had the time to back in his prime. It was typically always because other people were cheating or hinting at such.
Or as I always thought which is going to sound mean but I mean no offense. Paulie was not born for combat.Last edited by Tails; 08-30-2019, 02:25 PM.Comment

The best thing that can said about Paulie was he took a good ass beating. His mouth made him sorta relevant. He's also an overrated commentator.Comment
