Paulie Malignaggi was Never Great Because he was Clean

If there's one known boxer who had the highest chance of being clean it was Paulie Malignaggi.

Yet, he had all the tools needed to be a great in this sport. He was just a casualty of this dirty game. He deserves more respect, but he will be forgotten sadly for daring to play the game how it was supposed to.

Being a ***** is not an indication of being clean.

Hmm interesting observation. But who says he was definitely clean. He said he would definitely decapitate lobov and look what happened smh, he was just as adamant about that as he is about his detest for drug cheats. Maybe he's just a loudmouth Italian American who talks a lot of ****...or maybe he's a passionate guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and is real to the core. I guess only Paulie will ever know for sure. Obviously he didn't have power but look at wilders power , power seems more natural than drug induced, but what do I know. Look at Tyson they say he was juicing it didn't turn him into a wilder.
Was foreman and iron mikes power nature or chemical nurture.

I don't see any rationale for a dirty fighter to be so adamantly against doping during their careers and long after retiring. When you factor that with the lack of physical signs and sub par athletic performance, we can confidently say that there is a very high probability that he was clean.

Don't remember correctly, but wasn't USADA the gold standard when he was active? And I can very well remember talking about the dirty fighters in the division while he was fighting. There's also no point in him talking after retirement, and quite frankly, I don't give him this much credit as an actor.

Nonsense, their is a saying. He who yells the loudest is usually guilty. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on PED's period.

Paulie had fragile hands, that's why he had little to no power. His boxing ability, however, was excellent. As was his heart...no one who saw his performance against Cotto can say he had no heart or was a quitter.

Now his personality....that is another issue. Not likeable much of the time. I do like his fight commentary.

I would definitely be surprised lol

Is there a saying about weak chin/jawed pillow fisted soft bodied dirty fighters attracting unnecessary and unwarranted attention to themselves during and well after retirement?
