Feel so bad for Callum Smith.

It seems Matchroom have never forgiven him for leaving the Sky platform to join the WBSS and fight on ITV. Even though the guy won the the tournament, the pettiness from Hearn, Gallagher and all these other clowns have completely squandered his momentum.

    F*** the lot of them...

If he's WBC diamond champion he should be a WBC mandatory. After Benavidez gets his title back they should call for the fight. Hearn should have at least made Smith vs Ryder by now though.

They can’t even keep him active. He was meant to headline a show in Liverpool on Sep 21 but the show got scrapped for whatever reason.

I just really hope he can find a way out of his contract.

It's weird how inactive he was after the WBSS. A shame, I don't know if that is Callums own fault or not tho

So Hearn was opposed to him joining the WBSS tournament? Didn't know that, but not like he had many other options without the tournament.

Bivol doesn't really have an opponent right now either since he won't sign with ESPN, so this could be the idea fight to make for early 2020.

I don't know how you win a tournament like that and then just sit on your ass for a year.

Usyk won, and he fought Bellew (Basically the last remaining name at CW) and now is moving up to Heavyweight. he has a social media presence, he gives interviews. The tournament has made him a household name in the boxing community.

Callum Smith on the other hand? ****, half the time I mistakingly call him Caleb Smith now.

It’s not on Callum mate, I know for a fact he pushed hard for the Saunders fight.

Sky/Matchroom will not forgive fighters after they fight on another platform. Ryan Burnett got chewed up and spat out after he fought on ITV, same happened to Ohara Davies after he fought on Channel 5. Selby and DeGale also became a non priority the moment they signed with Haymon.

Hearn was pushing for Smith to instead headline a July show at the O2 (2017) they were trying to claim they could make the DeGale fight on PPV but DeGale ended up needing surgery. Smith instead chose to enter the WBSS which he has never been forgiven for.

                    It’s because he’s being under-promoted and mis-managed.
