A old friend of mine retired NYPD cop described the same type of celebration towards Wilfredo Gómez. Said the island use to call Salvador Sánchez the iron lung and they were all depressed for months after Gómez lost to him. I think for all Latinos this fight game is that way. That's y Ali said don't fight a Latino fighter cause they fight for their country.

That was already debunked by the man who caught the wrap, Naazim Richardson. He just said in NY they have a different ruling but the wrap is legal absolutely everywhere else. It was really just a loophole.

Not nice to say but for me I can only think about something going on with the hand wraps and the nut shots to Vargas. His wraps ruined Vargas permanently. He also lost to Delahoya and lost every round to Winky. That's without mentioning the Hopkins destruction.

Thinking back on some of the great fights Tito was in. Just went back and watched the Campo fight again. Insane action.

Loaded wraps. Hit Vargas in the nuts when he was in trouble. Lost to Delahoya clearly. Lost every round to Winky. Completly dismantled by Hopkins.

Besides Roberto Clemente, Tito is probably the most loved sports-figure the island will ever have.

Tito's so humble and such a great guy, a genuine man with a big heart for anyone, always very caring for those who approach him to say hi.

Tito is a special human being. We will always love him, there will never be another one like him.

This is a well-written article, kudos to the Author.

We truly cherished him whenever he was in the ring and those weekends were like holidays to us

Many boxers out there wish to have had such a following and the crowd yelling their name. Tito Tito Tito! I lmao when Don King used to say his name and tried to speak Spanish. That ring entrance for the Hopkins fight was awesome as it showed respect to all the first responders who helped 9/11.

I've always been told that I look like Tito. Love the guy.

I was a massive fan of Tito back in the day. Powerful and exciting. Wouldn't back down from anyone. Oh how I miss him. Lets hope Peurto Rico can produce another like him some time soon.

The names of Trinidad and margayeso don't belong in the same sentence. You must be one of those Mexicans who don't like the triumphs of others. Keep his name out of your mouth...….
