Plenty of people rehydration clauses. The other organizations don't think it's a good idea or they would have implemented it. The IBF got rid of the restriction for title fights because of Danny Jacobs ignoring it for the Golovkin fight. Lemieux had to go to the hospital and could not fight trying to make weight so weight cutting is serious. There has been plenty of debate on whether the IBF policy is healthy for the fighters. If anyone wants to fight for an organization's title they should be prepared to follow their rules.
Kathy Duva: Kovalev vs Canelo will be at 175

If Canelo wants an IBF rehydration clause for a 175 title fight I'm sure the winner of Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev would be happy to oblige.Comment

Look, I don't like Kovalev at all, but he's a great boxer and I respect him as a boxer.
If there is a rehydration clause, we should come together as fans and trash that
Don't pretend it's a 50/50 fight, if there's a rehydration clause, it's 100 percent sure that Canelo will win.
... and that's enough...
Because we are all here only for BOXING, and not for other reasons!!! (For instance, I don't like Russians...)Comment

The IBF have rehydration clauses as protocol for title fights the morning of the fight and there’s no other way around it whereas other orgs can exceed 10lbs+ on top of that.
Many fans say the IBF is one of the “best orgs” because it stands firm on its rules.
If we go by this logic, you can’t fault Canelo, especially if we don’t have any details about the cap limit for the rehydration which is most likely just a morning cut off and then he gain as much as he wants for fight night.Comment

the morning weigh in. Other organizations don't have a rule stopping fighters weighing in the morning of the fight. Golovkin weighed in under their rules but Danny skipped it.Comment

kova isnt a big lhw, he will have trouble with a cw, but with a 10 lb re hydration weight he could prob enter the ring close to 190...Comment

The notion that the clause is meant to set a disadvantage is pure ignorance.Comment
