Yarde is all smoke and mirrors. Big muscles exaggerated pull counters and check hooks. Easy to see coming when he is telegraphing everything and overconfident. He got schooled so bad I don't see any redeeming quality you could get out of his. Kovalev looks like he has a ******* addiction and spent half his camp partying and hungover. He didn't win because of "stamina". Most of that is just because he's not carrying 20 lbs of useless artificial muscle on his frame.

Yarde was never past 7 rounds but nearly knocked Kovalev out in the 8th ,and its his 19th fight with limited rounds under him going to Russia but you cant get anything out of this ?

If a fighter isn't confident he shouldn't be in the ring so WTF is over confident ? He's there to win .

Hell no, Kovalev got clearly robbed in the first fight and cheated in the second, with incompetent ref.

Get over it -- Kov got beat. A couple of Ward's shots were low, but the ones that weren't caused the damage. Boxers wear protection for low shots, but a well placed shot to the liver will fold you over in a heartbeat. Ask ODL when Hopkins connected.

And Kov got KO'd by Eleider which was started by body shots.

Ward was dead on in breaking this fight down and was very solid on the actual call. He was fair to both fighters and pointed out the in fight adjustments when they were made. And of course before the fight he thought Yarde would gas out late and get stopped…..Which is exactly what happened.

Kovalev was vulnerable to being punched in the balls. That's not exactly surprising.

What was surprising was that Kovalev outboxed Ward in their first match, when people only gave him a puncher's chance.
