IDK why Yard didnt just throw a 5 punch combination to the balls when he had Kov in trouble. It worked for Ward.

... I don't know just what was so surprising in that??? (precisely in Ward being outboxed by a superior fighter?????)

... anytime Ward was somehow out-boxed and/or out-powered he immediately went dirty as hell... WTF?...

... at that point, it was only about a "breath of wind" in order to take Yarde out!!!

Lol yes Ward never actually beat Kovalev in either fight. That 2nd fight was a disgrace

I don't think Yarde has even had a 12 round fight before and he had been fighting bums like most fighters do early on in their career. He had no chance of winning this.

I think the way it turned out will be advantageous to him because people know his name now and he will learn so much from this.

Looking back at it again today it didn't seem like Kovalev was in quite the amount of trouble I thought he was. He just rode out a small storm. As for everyone ridiculing Yarde for going down from a jab, it was clearly exhaustion, be fair. The guy went from 6 round level to that and took some decent shots early on. Kovalev hits hard for sure.

I found Ward very difficult to like. But I still give him credit for his skill. His run through the super six etc, beating guys like Kessler, Froch and Dawson... actually not just beating but dominating...yeah Andre actually had elite skill.

I disagree with you when you say that Ward went dirty as soon as he got challenged. He got dirty before he got challenged. He was a dirty prick of a fighter even when there was no need and no excuse. He was dirty because that is who he, as a person, was.

These euro-bums just cant do it like the ALL-AMERICAN Andre 'S.O.G' Ward! I've been hurting since you left champ! The game hasn't been the same.

He should have nailed him with repeated low blows & hoped the blind referee waved it off when Kovalev bent over at the waist to draw attention to the foul. That's how a pro ends a rivalry where he lost a majority of rounds.
