Yarde's inexperience cost him. With more poise and experience he would've finished off Kovalev. If he'd ****** to the body when Kov was wobbly,he'd surely have fallen. Krusher doesn't like getting it to the body which is Canelo's trademark. A good learning experience for Yarde though.

Kovalev was vulnerable to being punched in the balls. That's not exactly surprising.
What was surprising was that Kovalev outboxed Ward in their first match, when people only gave him a puncher's chance.Comment

Yarde was gassing by the 6th, had Kov in the 8th but put everything he had left into it and when he came out in the 9th we were looking for him to keep the pressure on and look to finish it but he was empty he could hardly throw a punch.
It was funny, at the end of the 5th he was looking shattered and the UK commentators were talking about how fit he still looked and could knock easily knock it up a gear or 2, i was starting to worry that the exact opposite was about to happen.Ward Derangement Syndrome is still going strong. Heck, who doesn't like watching Kovalev but Ward showed us the monster was actually a little bit vulnerable and some folks still can't accept that. Alvarez should as once again in their 1st fight and now a green Yarde nearly wipes him out.
I've listened all night to what Ward was saying...
... He initially said that Kova will stop Yarde...
... Ward also mentioned early Yarde's fatigue...
... Ward never mentioned that Yarde should have punched Kova's nuts in the 8th round...Comment

Yards was gassed...... He couldn't do more than that.
A more calculated power punch would have ended that fight.Comment
