Crazy to think oliver mcall is still fighting. Guys like 54 years old and boxed a few months ago.

Not seeing much if any similarities between Ruiz and Buster, McCall, Rahman... nor the fighters they beat. This fight series is a whole different animal. As for predictions... I think a more focused/prepared Joshua will dominate... either by UD or KO. And I think the only way we'll see fight #3 is if Ruiz turns in a good accounting of himself. No matter what though, the rematch will be an intriguing encounter, with a few kinks, twists, turns before it's over with. Definitely looking forward to it.

AJ isn't that good so I doubt he'll make some miraculous statement or comeback.

I do think Ruiz loses to Fury and Wilder. So in that sense, yes I think that Ruiz is like the #3 heavyweight and wont be number 1, so that is similar to those 3.

But unlike those 3, Ruiz has demonstrated he is far superior to the champion he beat, he systematically broke down, outfought and outsmarted the inferior so called champion in AJ.
I'd argue that Douglas was dominating the champ. Plenty would agree too.

We know Ruiz can box, can take a shot and we know he was motivated by a huge opportunity.

Without American blinkers, we know Joshua is a top fighter, who has beaten some very good fighters and unified the division. He was repeatedly able to back it up as the champ and win fights.

That's not even the question for me.

We haven't seen these two fighters in this situation before. We haven't seen a Joshua coming off a defeat. It could focus him and give him the right kind of adversity to overcome, just as all the champs did. It could of course break his confidence too. No-one really knows how he will react.

And we definitely haven't seen a Ruiz with millions in the bank. I doubt he was exactly a model of discipline before... what do silk sheets and a mansion of all-you-can eat buffets do for him? Of course this change in circumstances might just be the boost to his confidence that takes him to that elite level.

My guess is that we see a better Joshua and a worse Ruiz. Just based on what they'd respectively done previously. But it's going to be compelling viewing finding out.

Ruiz is out to prove his win wasn't a fluke. He will be focused and determined. Joshua will be fighting his nerves and Ruiz as he seeks to win impressively to prove the loss was a fluke. Lewis was a better boxer than McCall and Rahman, so for him additional focus was all that was needed and the KO came. Joshua is not the better boxer over Ruiz but he can easily use his size to coast to a UD. That won't replace the sting or the stigma of a KO loss though. I see Joshua coming in trying to jab his way back to the win column but possibly tiring late and losing a MD. My predictions may change based on how much VADA they have.

I don't see it, he will always having bragging rights as one of the most skilled sportsman with the worst physique.

Also Rahman shouldn't be put in there with the others.

McCall caught a very low percentage punch and it was an early stoppage.

You are making a hell of a point here. Based on the fiasco of AJ/Ruiz, he might find it difficult to get another titles fight except he's a mandatory.

AJ was the favorite the first time around and will be the favorite the second time around too. Not sure he can pull the surprise he did the first time but surely will be better than Buster Douglas.

I have Joshua winning this either by late KO or on points.

Yeah but the taxes never go away. Unless he saves and does good investments he’s not going to be able to pay at least $32,000 a year in property taxes. Double it since it’s in Cali
