2-0 for sure, Canelo work was pretty much ineffective throwing and hoping. He got outboxed two times in a row and popped for steroids the guy is a crook with people behind the scenes paying others off to ensure he doesn't take another L on his resume.

Both fights are close, and the story of them both is the basically the same: Clean, more effective punching and effective jabs (Golovkin) versus much more diverse offense and better ring control (Alvarez). Only real difference was in the first fight it was Alvarez who picked up the pace and went to work at the end against Trip G in the rounds both had to have, in the second fight it was Golovkin who wobbled Alvarez and made the end the big drama show he promised during the championship rounds.

1-1 would be fine. 1-0-1 is not a robbery. The first fight was a cerebral exercise in the squared circle. The second fight was more fun.

I am now and have always been cheering for a third fight. I think Alvarez wins, but a motivated Golovkin with his entire legacy on the line would put it all out there and likely go out on his shield before allowing his last chance to get away. This rubber match might be one for the ages if it gets signed in the next 18 months.

GGG won 2 fights period

Yes he won two fight Vs tomato cans (like 95% of his fights) but not vs Canelo that's for sure.

Canelo outboxed him in the 1st fight, but got a draw as GGG was more active, canelo whooped him in the 2nd with no controversy. It was clear cut. Why are people still arguing about this?

2-0 my izz-azz. Ggg's face said otherwise. Canelo stood right in feont of that man & beat the ***** out him. (& dont tell me some people bruise easy. Ggg has fought BUMBS his whole career....ZERO wars until canelo.) All this fight w/ Chyenko does is put more wear & tear on Golovkin's body so as to ensure a Canelo stoppage the next time ginger meets the an older, more battle worn golovkin. Why u think they relinquished the belts?? This is all strategic. ..and smart.

Anybody who says Canelo whooped or dominated Golovkin in the rematch either doesn't remember what happened, hasn't actually watched the fight in it's entirety, or watches Canelo highlights of the fight.

2-0 my ass. GGG demanded a Mexican style fight and wanted judging that favored the aggressor, and he got just that. Unfortunately for him he was caught with his pants down when Canelo called his bluff. Any other fighter in GGG's position would be the object of ridicule for trying to claim robbery under those circumstances. Imagine a Mexican fighter constantly thumping their chest about being "Mexican style" and claiming you're a ***** if you take a step back against him, then come fight night when his opponent brings the fight to him, spends much of the time retreating and jabbing and throwing no body punches, while getting beaten black and blue in the process and his rib cage worked over. His own team acknowledged it was a fair decision FFS.

I think what we saw was a real physical regression in that fight. Slow, a kind of inability to get hes punches off alot like how Hagler looked in Mugabi and Leonard fights. Maybe if he does well here it was a staleness that training under Banks might address. But although some people think that age is an excuse for Golovkin, he really is at that time in life where everything starts to fall apart. Derevyanchenko could outwork him here, quite possibly.

Very possible. Plus Gennady DID get beat up in the 2nd Canelo fight. Those beatings can have a mental effect. Dervenchenko is a REAL opponent unlike Rolls so we might see Gennady unravel here.

Props to Gennady for taking a real fight. Shame it's taken him so long

he really beat GGG's azz in the 2nd fight. I'm talking about had him gasping for air half way through the fight. He was beating him so bad that GGG landing one punch in the 10th round, missed about 7 punches after that and Lampley went crazy acting like Canelo was about to be stopped. That's how desperate HBO was to persuade the viewers that GGG wasn't getting stomped out. People claim they can watch a fight and score it while ignoring ledderman and lampley, but that's proven to be bs. I don't miss Lampley's cheer-leading at all. That was the best thing to come from HBO getting rid of boxing
