They had Ruiz on a flat fee and while he could hold out for a bit more, he was always holding a poor hand because of that. Ruiz was such a long shot in the first fight, if they had requested 30/70 in the rematch they may well have got it.

This fight is now looking like it could be what $80 or $100 million and Ruiz is stuck trying to squeeze more against a signed contract. Win, lose or draw fair chance Joshua walks away from this $60M+ richer.
Did you not read that Ruiz got his contract mod and will be receiving more money? Maybe you glossed over that part. Also, tell me how this fight is going to make $100M? Hearn was arguing that Wilder Joshua wouldn't make $100M in the UK but Joshua Ruiz is gonna make that in Saudi Arabia?

Ruiz showing he is a fighting man by agreeing to this. Obviously Hearn's pockets were the ones that were swelling from putting the fight in Saudi Arabia. So yes he had to spread some of that around. Fast Eddie trying to be slick. Not so fast, your negotiating with a PBC fighter after all. And to think some AJ fanboys actually had the nerve to say Ruiz was ducking the rematch against a guy he completely smoked. It was laughable!

you're right, it's not a debate because you have no valid point. Joshua had all of the advantages fighting ruiz in msg. He had the crowd support, his promotor was the lead promotor, he got paid more money. The only disadvantage he had was that his flight travel time was maybe 2 hours longer. You clearly don't understsnd the boxing scene in NY or the US so the home field advantages that others enjoy in their home countries, doesn't exist in the US.

LOL it doesn't exist in America? How convenient for your argument. There is no such thing as home advantage to an American when fighting a none American in America.

You gotta laugh at these goons.

have you ever been to a fight in America? If not, you should stfu because you clearly don't know what you're talking about. I've seen Zab Judah who is from NY be at a disadvantage fighting in his home state. Same when Collazo fought Hatton in Boston, Hatton had the crowd support and got shady score cards in his favor. Floyd fought in the state where's he's lived for the past decade plus and gets boo'd while facing foreigners. You're just trying make excuses for the fact that Joshua is a weak minded quitter.

I saw Wilder get special recovery time in New York, I saw Wilder get a robbery draw in Los Angeles. Opposite ends of the country and Wilder is from no where near either of those places. America is not neutral ground to an American fighter against a none American fighter.

If Joshua had 1/2 the tenacity of his fans ...well, he wouldn't have won but he wouldn't have quit either.

Oh ffs! All total bollocks, he’s an “athlete” on a sporting mission, of course he’ll be ok! What about when the American basketball player went to North Korea? Did wing Wong un bum his ass off? Or ram a missile down his throat? No. All utter toffee and excuses.
You don’t get offered a chance of a lifetime like this and expect to win and walk away, what is he a kunt?
Mate, don’t be a kunt all ya life.
Anyway, which is it? Mexican or American? You hail being the first Mexican heavyweight champ but cry even more about goin to Arabia and all of a sudden, your an American.
