Money is the only thing he can negotiate, otherwise he still has no choice unless he wants to lose belts and a pay day.

Ruiz was contractually tied to an immediate second bout with Joshua stemming from the rematch clause contained in the paperwork ahead of their June meeting, which Ruiz won by a shocking seventh-round stoppage.

However, contracts can’t make fighters enter the ring, and his team used the threat of refusing to fight in Saudi Arabia as leverage, per sources. Ruiz was guaranteed approximately $9 million for the rematch, but will now receive millions more after the deal was reworked, according to sources.

Glad Ruiz got the type of purse he was looking for. Once it was leaked that SA paid over 40M for the site fee, no way was Ruiz going to take the 9M that was originally in his contract for the rematch.

      Let's get it on now!!!

And that's exactly what he did.

Got the type of money he was looking for which seems to be plenty more than the 9M he was set to make from the original contract.

No one wants to go to court and drag this out and Ruiz's side knew eventually Joshua/Hearn would give in some.

Everyone wins here and we get a hell of a rematch.

Like I said last week, give him 15m and he would be in the ring. Make him focus more on things like this. Take his focus away.

So he got the 50 million he asked for ? Funny I didn't hear that. Ha

We get the rematch anyway ,Ruiz would not have gone to court he knows its a lose/lose situation for him as I posted dozens of times on here, he simply doesn't have any leg to fight what the initial clause he signed and agreed to and we know this with an official press conference that announced this fight already.

Okay where are all the dummies who was acting like this wasn't about either money or location. Was beyond obvious Andy wanted 1 of 2 things before he signed off on the fight.

Turns out morality had nothing to do with it. Guess I'm not surprised...

50M? No, but he got more money than the 9M he was contracted to receive for the rematch.

If he didn't have any leg in his case, then there is no need to give him more than the 9M in the contract. But the possibility of going to court and this dragging on with his side using the argument against fighting in SA was enough to get him a pay boost.

LIS win-win for everyone. Joshua will be getting paid a crazy amount of money with it being in the SA and Ruiz will be getting paid more than the 9M he was set to receive....And then of course win for the fans since we get the highly anticipated rematch.

I really can't believe this, it makes no sense at all.

I was led to believe Andy was going to get beheaded for being christian, the 3 judge panel in SA was Barry Hearn and 2 camels and A-side Andy the champ he said he was fighting in the US, and the champ calls the shots?

I mean it almost sounds like he was just holding out for a bit more money than he had signed for like rational people said all along. Crazy stuff.
