Idc what he mentioned or not. Once the mando is lined up & as in this deep, as this was, they don't reverse it outside of an injury or something like that. I mean they had a fight date & venue & sh^t. Its not like we were early into this mando situation. It was in the works & sh^t had moving parts already & likely some money changed hands. Yarde woulda needed to get a side step fee also & he's stated he wasn't interested in taking side step money.

Honestly I think it's still a 50/50 fight. I think that having Abel out of his corner is going to help. Standing toe to toe with a guy who you can't KO and has a substantial hand speed advantage was not a good strategy.

fair call, i think that ggg will need more time to really benefit from a new trainer and im not sure that he will be ready after the serg fight, but the serg fight is going to be a good indicator , not the best fight out there but serg is tough and can take a punch and fights back, i still dont think he stands a chance but can at least make it some how competitive and go to the later rounds...

I doubt Canelo would clean out middle division. I doubt he would clean out super middle.

I just find it interesting how quick the mighty have fallen. From 2014-2016, Kovalev beat BHOP & Pascal (twice). In 2016, Canelo had knocked out Amir Khan who was coming up for a middleweight fight. Did anyone back in 2016, actually believe Canelo would have any fighting chance against Kovalev, nick named Krusher, be honest. I sure didn’t. Now Canelo would probably be the betting favorite to not only win but stop Kovalev.

I recall the fight first being discussed well before the Yarde fight was made. Again, he did not mention that as a reason. Why even bother reading what these guys say if you would rather just make up your own shiiiit?
