It was short notice and Kovalev already had the Yarde fight set up. It’s difficult to get out of that since tickets were already on sale and agreements were signed off like Kovalev said. With that being said, would a Kovalev/Canelo fight be intriguing? I think so.

Kovalev looked good in his last fight. He’s clearly not the monster he was a few years ago, but he’s adapting to his age. He’s older, but experienced. The way he fought Eleider showed a crafty veteran on Kovalev’s part. He was selective with his punch output and didn’t take any serious risks. He didn’t look shot, but also didn’t look like the Kovalev of old. If he can stay sharp and take care of business on Saturday and an impressive fashion, than I say he’s got a good chance of beating Canelo. That’s IF Canelo doesn’t drain him down to a catch weight or impose rehydration clauses which I highly doubt.

Headlines say otherwise. This fight has been a mando since like March or April. Kovalev's hands were tied.

Less than 3 days until this fight. This one is one of the year's hidden gems.

There is a headline somewhere that mentions Kovs being stripped if he fought Canelo? Link?

Nope. What she said was there would be a same day weigh in, she didn’t specify detail.

Did anyone back in 2016, actually believe Canelo would have any fighting chance against Kovalev, nick named Krusher, be honest. I sure didn’t. Now Canelo would probably be the betting favorite to not only win but stop Kovalev.
Good post. Well abbreviated historical post. Green K.

When you flake out on your mando & the opponent doesn't take a step aside fee thats just what happens. Are you disagreeing thats what happens. Go look up the rules of the specific ABC belt for that sh^t when a purse bid & mando fight is called for. Don't need to link some story for that.

When Kovs made the Yarde fight, there came out a story where Kovs stated the fight was made cause Canelo had not made up his mind. There was no mention that he would have been stripped.

Why do you insist on making up storie? Kovs stated his reasons. Do you know more than Kovs, bro?

Why you playing ****** like you don't know how titles work. If your mando gets called up & its in the works it pops off outside of injuries or a step aside fee, which Yarde claims he wouldn't have taken.

F#ck man some of you mfers play difficult with the most basic of sh^t.

And lets be real most of these boxers don't understand a lot of the title bs. They box not deal with all this business bs. And title bs is ultimately business bs.
