Top fighters figured out with the help of Al Haymon, that they can co-promote themselves cut out the middle man, and make more money from not only their purse from the fight, but from gate sells and merchandising....
Who did Spence fight that's career defining? Spence's only career defining fight is Terrance Crawford and Spence doesn't want that fight.

Damn shame Bud resigned with TR. He will have a lot of regrets when his career is over. At 31 years old, he still doesn’t have that prolific defining victory over an elite fighter. Arum probably lied to him about getting the big fights. And with the $3 mill he makes per fight, he’s probably content. But still no legacy fight. Maybe Haymon will agree for him to fight Ugas, Lipinet, or Danny Garcia. But if he doesn’t get a big fight by spring if next year, he should really try to buy out his contract.
