I love Crawford as a fighter, but I still can't figure out why the hell he re-upped with TR. This fight is straight B.S. and I bet Crawford's hometown crowd don't even care for it. Reminds me of how Arum was milking Pac-man. And I'm sure if he doesn't have a fight announced yet, he won't have another fight on top of the one mentioned in the article because it's nearly September.

It was all about timing.. remember, at the time he re-up PBC didn't have the deal with FOX, and ESPN figure that with all the fighters PBC had with no promotion cantracts, and all the dates ESPN had that Haymon would be forced to work with Arum.. That is why ESPN had an exclusive contract with T.R..

But then PBC announced the deal with FOX... and left T.R/ESPN and Matchroom/DAZN with Ton of dates, but no real fighters to fill them...

Top fighters figured out with the help of Al Haymon, that they can co-promote themselves cut out the middle man, and make more money from not only their purse from the fight, but from gate sells and merchandising....

As much as some fans dislike or hate Al Haymon, Crawford needs to go to him when he becomes a free agent to get the fights he really wants. Haymon has most of the top fighters at welterweight not named Crawford. And that’s why Arum is pissed off.
