yeah oscar has the clout to do such things. in his first fight with Vargas i heard Vargas say that Dela wanted the fight to be with 10ounce gloves, Vargas stated he never fought at pro with 10ounce gloves usually 8ounce. but none the less he went through with it, so i was told...

I can't find fault in anything you are saying and I KNOW DLH is past his prime. Nonetheless you wouldn't rate a past his prime DLH at 154 as a bigger threat than Margarito at 147? I see DLH as a bigger risk because of the weight gain... Floyd already looks maxed out at 147. On the other hand, I see Margarito as a possibly dangerous opponent... like you say any time you have KO power like that you always have a chance to win.

i also feel Marg style poses a bigger risk for Floyd than Dela..Dela vs Floyd would be a boxing match IMO, i dont think anyone can out boxed Floyd..but the pressure and power Marg puts on opponents would cause Floyd problems

That is definitely one theory. Another theory might be that he wants to save this fight for down the road. If 8 million is available now, then why wouldn't the same or more be available after Floyd beats Shane and DLH (not saying I think he would win but in Floyd's mind its a given). By then Margarito will at worst be as anonymous as now but more likely he is more well known. My main issue with calling Floyd scared is that I just don't think that he is capable of being scared. If you have ever watched him interviewed, he is one of the most ****y athletes I've ever seen. It would be like TO being afraid of Champ Bailey (pro-football analogy). He may be scared I just don't think that is his motivation.

Marg poses a huge risk. I think Floyd feels the same. IF Floyd got KO'd by Marg in the first round I would respect him for taking on a tough challenged. Instead of calling out Dela(past his prime promoter)just to make more millions..

It's totally hypocritical that so many fans think Floyd has to prove himself by fighting a guy who has never proven himself. How do we know Margarito is the truth? How do we know this is the best fight at welterweight right now? All Margarito has is a puncher's chance, just like Gatti did. Margarito is just a taller Mayorga with a jab. He throws wild, looping haymakers.

Why is Margarito the chosen one? If wins over Lujan, Kyvelos, and Gomez make him the best at 147, then I guess wins over Gatti, Brusseles, and Corley make Floyd the best at 140, right? And why is his loss to Santos just straight up dismissed? We **** on Judah for losing to a guy of lesser talent. My point is, Mosley and DLH said they wont fight till 2007 and Floyd has a date set for November, why not just take the fight and make 8 million since he ain't gonna fight Mosley and DeLaHoya yet.
