Yes, Winky fought Tito at 160...but my point was that Winky would be comfortable at 154, and Magarito is obviously a large welterweigh, so he would be, too. My comment was attacked as ****** becase, "Winky is a middleweight."
So you know, Charlie, Winky has only had three recent fights at middlweight THREE:
Tito Trinidad at 160
Sam Solimon at 159
Jermain Taylor at 160
Before that it was, besides an early fight against Tony Graham, all 154 and below- even a few at 147. So keep telling me Winky is too big to fight at 154 and that I'm an idiot. Thanks.
im glad you got the internet to pull this stuff up
Floyd fighting Margarito is a comprable body frame differential to Margarito-Wright. Margarito is a welterweight now, but he will soon be fighting at 154. He's a massive, monster welterweight. Floyd, on the other hand, is coming a long way since his home at Super Featherweight and lightweight. Floyd is smaller than Margarito, and according to your argument Margarito is smaller than Winky- but not by much. So my arguement was not invalid.
My point, though, was that fighters do not accept fights due to monetary positions, not just who they are afraid of. If Winky does not fight Margarito, every knows neither man is scared of the other, that it simply did not happen for financial reasons. That was the entire reason why I brought up Wright-Margarito...to say that if Margarito did not choose to fight him someone could come along and say, "Look! Margarito is ducking winky!" Doesn't mean it is true.

in Margarito's chat wrap he said he weighs 165..
thats about right for a welter to be walking around at
You're now insinuating that Margarito is NOT a big welterweight whom easily fights at 154? Because that was what I said and you just called me a bozo. Well, first you said that Winky Wright was could not go Jr. Middleweight, now this. Here's a post fight interview with Margarito:
SN: Who do you feel poses the biggest challenge for you in either the welterweight or junior middleweight divisions?
I don't really think there is anybody at the welterweight division who poses a big challenge for me. I've looked at the rankings and other than Cory Spinks and Kermit Cintron, I wouldn't be too worried. At 154, all four champions are southpaws, this is already a challenge. Although Santos has problems making weight, he eventually makes it, then blows up to 170lbs the night of the fight. Ouma has looked better than his last outing, maybe it was the long layoff, but he's quick, accurate, and strong. I don't know anything about Travis Simms other than being southpaw. Winky is an intelligent fighter. Very patient, sticks to his game plan, good boxer, and throws a good jab.
-Point being that Margarito is a large man who can swing 154. He fought both Santos and Brantley at 154....so...again, yes...if he has fought there he can make the weight.
So stop making immature comments about my intelligence when nothing I am saying is wrong. Thank you.

I never said that Winky couldnt go to jr middle..he just turned down an offer to fight Maragrito at jr middle for 4 mil..
BTW .thats MORE than he made against Jermaine Taylor
then he offered to fight Marg at CATCH weight 158..
DENIED!!
IF HE CAN MAKE JR MIDDLE AT IS A SMALL MIDDLE WEIGHT WHY DOES HE WANT A CATCH WEIGHT AT 158???
you said MARGARITO was ducking him cuz he didnt except that offer
The reasoning for Tony getting to fight Floyd before Baldy is simple.
1) Tony has been considered an upper tier fighter at 147 for much longer.
Margarito has been a beltholder for years but his comp has been mediocre at best. No one considered him to be any sort of force at Welterweight until Mayweather moved up to fight Judah and Arum started this very clever media campaign to promote a fighter that he had been neglecting. If anyone is to blame for Margarito's lack of exposure it's his promoter, not the entire division that's supposedly ducking him.
2) Tony has offered the money that Baldy's camp simply cannot.
Even if we take the offer at face value (which is ridiculous considering the fact that Arum is one of the biggest snakes in boxing and Margarito and Mayweather don't have the combined fan support to produce that kind of revenue) Baldomir is the recognized champion at 147. The Undisputed title at Welterweight is a hell of a lot bigger than anything that Margarito brings to the table.
3) Wins over Gatti and Judah are no better combined than Lewis and Cintron.
Utter NONSENSE. Zab Judah was THE Undisputed Champion at 147 when Baldomir beat him. That victory led to Baldo's current status as the recognized titlist in the division. The win over Judah dwarfs anything that Margarito has even thought about accomplishing in his career. Cintron was a prospect and Lewis had already been exposed when Margarito fought them.

Marg tried to fight Zab..they said NOT YET..wanted to milk it get a tune up( Baldi) then a payday (Floyd)
Marg also ask to fight Mosley before he stated that he needed a couple more fights first( one was Estrada..who went the distance wit him..oh and who also was just KO'd by Cintron..who Marg demolished)
Floyd isnt the only one turning down fights with Marg...he was just offered the most money
get it through your thick sculls...give Marg is credit..people just wont fight em
Even tho I think Mayweather would easily beat Margarito he does seem to not want the fight. I dont know if he is scared but I just dont think he is interested. He wants to fight a household name which Margarito is not. But who else is he gonna fight?
Hatton no.
Cotto is going to Showtime
Margarito going to Showtime
Spinks fighting Rivera
Mosley not fighting this year
Oscar not fighting this year
So Floyd is out of BIG fights to take and he has nobody to blame but himself.

period.
The "tune up" was his mandatory.
Tony does not want to fight Judah right now.
