Who is the most terrible boxer out there skills-wise?

If it was more than a simple 1-2, then Fury wouldn't have been able to avoid it as much as he did. There were no feints, speed shifts on the jab, footwork or anything. Just straight up step-in 1-2, or just throw the 1-2 and hope it lands. Having a champion's mindset hasn't made his technique any less shit. Besides, I already said he has heart. This is supposed to be about skill, not mindset.
He has a predictable 1-2, no footwork and hardly any defense. He's not awkward, he lacks fundamentals. He even acknowledges it.Comment

You guys say Wilder and Martin have zero skills, but Wilder is a world champ and Martin gave a very hard time to Kownacki, who is top 10.
I am no Wilder fan, but guy has just a perfect ring IQ.Comment

I think Wilder is very unorthodox and there may well be a number of areas where he is truly lacking, but at the same time he's actually got some decent craft when it comes to landing that right hand bomb. That's such a deadly KO punch not only because it's a hard punch, but also because generally speaking it's hard, accurate, fast and usually either comes from an unexpected angle or is disguised behind another punch. I also think his footwork, jab and head movement is quite underrated. Yes, he relies on his power a lot, but power means nothing if it's not landing and Wilder is knocking his opponents out or at least putting them on their ass very consistently.
Out of everyone who's relevant enough to appear on TV, I think Joe Joyce is probably the worst. He really does just bulldoze over his opponents without any craft or guile whatsoever, defends with his face and he punches like the TV broadcast is being played at half speed. He's gotten away with it so far because he's so huge and strong and his opposition's mostly been undersized and mediocre, but even against a faded and mostly irrelevant Bryant Jennings he was eating clean shots the whole fight and I think can count himself lucky to come away with the decision win. The moment he fights someone who he can't physically bully and who can box even a little bit I think he'll be found out badly.
I also think Jaime Munguia falls into the same mould as Joyce somewhat, although to a lesser extent. He's also falling into the weight bully trap where he's relying too much on his physical dominance in fights and as a result his skillset is somewhat stunted. I think that's starting to show now, he was clearly outboxed by the unknown Dennis Hogan and only won because of robbery. I think his handlers realise this too and will probably attempt to cash him out soon.Comment
