Yes you have to have ESPN plus. I thought most events were on ESPN plus? Yes the BIG cards are PPV but theres not as many anymore.

Boxing has a lot it could capitalize on if all the self interest got out of the way. Its an Olympic sport with a long heritage and still a bigger base of casual fans, the biggest UFC star's biggest fight was in boxing, thats pretty embarrassing for the UFC really if you think about it.

The differences which currently help the UFC, i.e one brand/promoter, one place to watch, do actually have benefits that boxing as a sport could capitalize on.

Different promoters do seem to help boxers get paid better, and various networks extend the coverage. But then you add the different sanctioning bodies and it all gets too decentralised and a mess.

And no one is going to give up their position for the good of the sport, probably the only way it happens is if one network becomes so dominant all others exit, then they use their dominance to sort it out.

But you were literally talking about last nights card, that was PPV right? My understanding is every actual UFC XXX is a PPV, i.e. last night was UFC 241 which was a PPV, then they also have UFC on ESPN & UFC Fight Nights, those aren't PPV, and for the actual UFC PPV events isn't there the same number as there has been for a while, i.e. one a month?

Also from all reports the recent numbers in general, but especially since moving to ESPN+ have been terrible with last night perhaps an exception (saw an estimate around 300K), so its not all roses at UFC either.
