precedent in rematches
People are so emotionally invested in this fight. There are precedents that can give is some indication here on what will probably occur.
One of the important considerations is what the two fighters are doing now, where they are at for the rematch. Ruiz stands a chance of getting too involved in the negotiations. He will already be taking an "L" in his mind by going to Saudi Land... When in fact he did force a renegotiation of where the fight took place. It would be a better look to concede at this point on where the fight is taking place.
Ruiz can be mad as hell because he is getting less...take it to the ring though. Use it well! Joshua, on the other hand is burning bridges...He has LL angry with him, he is making excuses... Not a good look for him either. So who is going to come into this with the momentum?
Now when we look at rematches there are times when a vastly inferior fighter goes in after winning in a fluke, this is not one of those times. Ruiz has legitimate skills and won that fight by pressuring AJ. One can look at many fights like when Douglas beat Tyson and then lost... when Rahman lost to LL after the first fight, etc And then one can look at fights where the rematch will be a challenge... When Sugar Ray was beat the first time, when Juan Ma was beat by Salidad.
The difference between the two situations is when a legitimate case can be made for the underdog winning the fight, or not. There is no way that Ruiz beating AJ was a "fluke." Thats not to say AJ is lacking, but he was exposed to a degree by a guy with legitimate weapons. This does not bode well for AJ. if ever I was going to bet on a fight I would bet on this fight:
1) The oddsmakers have to be conservative and assume the victory was out of the odds. Unless there is really developments in the training camps that say otherwise. Put another way: if AJ was such a favorite the first time, it is illogical to assume he is an underdog now. So the odds will reflect this more than anythng else.
2) The judges will be less expected to "give it" to either guy. Ruiz is the champ technically but AJ also has backing...The judges may not take the victory away from Ruiz like they surely would have done the first fight if it went the distance.
3) Psychologically Ruiz has the advantage. he took AJ's shot and AJ did not take his shot. Ruiz is not even a big puncher. This should allow Ruiz to make AJ think twice if he handles himself well.
Most times under these circumstances Ruiz would be the winner. It will be interesting to see what happens.Comment

3 knock downs isn't a lucky punch. A lucky punch is when a fighter is beating the person than the losing boxer lands a lucky punch to win similar to Mike Weaver who lost 14 rounds than lands a lucky punch in Round 15 to win the fightComment

Fine. You win. Joshua couldn’t recover at all in four rounds after being punched, and that’s completely normal for guys who get punched in boxing.Comment
