Yes Kovalev lost in his next fight as he was #1 not mentally sound and #2 under estimated his opponent.
Yet he clearly showed he learned from that mistake weather he had a bad trainer which he switched or something else he showed that he could come back and clearly even out box the younger, faster fighter in damn near every round!!
So how the hell do you get off saying Canelo is cherry picking against technically the top guy at 175 and the fact that Canelo is truly a 160lb fighter!
And to the weight point Canelo has not even been at 160 that long! 3 fights!!
You people hat Canelo so much you let it blind logic!!
Canelo has fought many fighters that nobody else would or wanted to fight yet took those zeros away!
That's a lot more then can be said for Floyd Mayweather!
Canelo has consistently fought the best fighters and is still at it even though he is guaranteed 33+ million a fight!!
Show me Floyd's money fight comparison, or Manny? The last PPV fighter to fight the best no matter what was Oscar Del Hoya!!
Facts.

You say Canelo has doubtful wins against GGG yet others think Canelo one both and I'm one of those as are the Mayweather's and many more.
Canelo at worse deserved the draw in the first fight as watching it live that is how I scored it.
But rewatching it GGG never had control of the rounds that Canelo slowed down as Canelo played GGG on his defense.
I think Canelo beat GGG in the first fight defensively and he clearly beat GGG at his own game in the second!
GGG and his team begged Canelo to stand and trade! Did Canelo not stand and trade? Who was on the back foot all night? Not Canelo!
I'm not a Canelo hater. I like Canelo and GGG but I call a spade a spade.
Now the 2nd fight was more of a draw to me but it could have went either way and it went to Canelo but I did think it was a bit strange for the judges to give Canelo the 12th Rd which he clearly didn't win.
All that GGG stand and trade talk is BS it's called boxing, not stand and trade. Mayweather said he was going to brutalize and punish Oscar then got in there and outboxed him so I guess Oscar should have won by your logic FOH clown

These are all top undefeated fighters who are in their prime, aren't 3-3 in their last 6, and haven't been ko'd twice.... Like Kovalev. Not to mention Kovalev will without a doubt have to have a quick turnaround to recover from whatever happens next weekend because Canelo wants to fight within a few months. That's not easy for a 36 yr who is enduring a full training camp for a probable tough fight.
Regardless, an entertaining fight that will do good #'s. I would pony up for this as I expect the fight could end in a knockout.

That's it, ignore his excellent performance last outing. By your 'logic' Pac is old and in the way... even though at age 40 he just beat an elite in that division.
