Gamboa was beating him until the knockdowns. Might have still been up after the first 2 knockdowns even.

I had Dulorme pretty much shutting him out as Crawford was feeling him out in the first few rounds. It seemed like Crawford was just trying to figure him out and find his range, but Dulorme won every round in my eyes up until he got clipped. I also had Dulorme beating Ugas and Jessie Vargas for what it's worth as well.

All credit to Crawford though, he exploited Gamboa's unecessary aggressiveness in a fight he was winning (trying to prove a point I guess, Gamboa seemed to have it in the bag) and he was only warming up against Dulorme.

He got the job done at the end of the day and became a better fighter after both fights. He kept improving and became the beast he is today.

Benavidez was giving Crawford some work with one leg. But because of the KO people don't seem to remember that

The knockdown was in the fifth. How can Gamboa have it in the bag up until that point?
The fifth round is still in the early phase of a 12 round fight.
Did Khan had it in the bag against danny garcia after he dominated the first 2 rounds?

Gamboa, Dulorme, and Benavidez to an extent. I think they were all good learning experiences for him in the end as are most competitive fights for boxers.

Gamboa was the first time Crawford fought a fast awkward fighter in the pros and it showed in this match. It's understandable that he would lose some of the early rounds against Gamboa. I think this fight is the one that gave Crawford incentive to really improve on his defense. Had he fought Felix Diaz instead of Gamboa that night he probably would have lost.

Dulorme is a well schooled boxer who has had lapses in fights but overall boxes really well. To me it seemed Crawford took notice that sometimes he has to press a guy who has it in their mind to only box to a decision. After this fight is when I noticed Crawford started turning up the heat on his opponents and pressing more and more for stoppages and overall damage.

With Benavidez I don't know if it was so much Benavidez showing spurts of the talent people saw when he first turned pro (tall, lanky stationary boxer with quick hands and good power) or Crawford taking the grudge match serious and engaging a little more reckless than usual. Benavidez gave a good account of himself even though Crawford was really tagging him to body a lot and when you consider his previous leg injury from years back.
