Crawford's Hardest Fights

A lot of it lies in the way Bud fought these guys. Gamboa clearly got in the best shots but Bud was actively trading with him. Look at how much respect he gave Postol. He did not give that guy an inch and did not play into his game at all. In a way, I think that was one of his toughest fights because of how cautiously he had to play it. If he decided to be that disciplined with others he would have had an easier time but I don't think he's seen others as being as much of a threat.

The fact that he has that much control over the flow of the fight says a lot about the guy.

Postol is the most skilled fighter he has faced. An older inactive Postol gave Josh Taylor all he could handle. Crawford beat a Postol who was at his absolute best.

Benavidez was giving Crawford some work with one leg. But because of the KO people don't seem to remember that

And Benavidez is a dam good fighter a brilliant talent that had problems outside of the ring that slowed his career momentum.

Most boxing fans have the attitude that a fighter must knock down the wall before they think he can, thats why they get into the popularity stakes with a fighter before the skillset.

Benavidez begged for that fight. Even going as far as insulting Crawford face to face.

Crawford played with Benavidez and then staged a last round KO. It was a weird fight, it seemed to me that Bud was in some sort of mood because he did not fight his usual way and didn't seem to care if he got hit. It's one of those fights that should not be taken too seriously.

after round 4 Crawford was punishing Gamboa

Gamboa was seemingly giving Crawford LOTS of problems throughout the first four, not like the Dulorme fight where Crawford seemed to be taking his time figuring out his opponent. He had Crawford genuinely confused and was outboxing him.

He only got caught when he decided to get brave and start to trade with the visibly much larger man. He came lunging in at Crawford trying to knock him out, and that's when he got caught and lost control of the fight.

Against Dulorme not much was going on at all, it was Crawford just being a bit too patient and Dulorme was the only one truly getting off and he was edging out rounds because of it. But Crawford seemed to be in for a looong night against Gamboa until Gamboa decided to do what he did.

The knockdown was in the fifth. How can Gamboa have it in the bag up until that point?
The fifth round is still in the early phase of a 12 round fight.
Did Khan had it in the bag against danny garcia after he dominated the first 2 rounds?

Danny Garcia was timing Khan with counter shots from round one. It was only a matter of time before Garcia timed him perfectly which he did, but he had been doing it the whole time. It was Khan's output and blinding handspeed that was overshadowing this. But it was always truly there if you go rewatch.

Crawford sometimes doesn't seem to mind losing or having close rounds because he always appears like he's figuring out the guy and only then he steps on the gas.

He hasn't been in a fight that I thought he was out of control for even a moment.

He is willing to exchange which makes look vulnerable at times but his hand speed and accuracy can turn it around very quickly, and TC is still learning I think we got about 3-4 fight before TC reaches his full potential.

He reminds be at times of a Tommy Hearns with not quite that power.
