Wouldn't it be funny if we found out in the next couple weeks that it was not Robeisy fighting last night, but his identical twin brother Abner Ramirez instead? LOLComment

Spadafora was quite good too in fairness, massively pumped up record but a very talented guy nonetheless. Not surprised Mayweather suffered against him if he wasn't in shape.Cubans just don't transition well in the pros in U.S. Robeisy was undisciplined and showed up many times out of shape while in Cuba where discipline is at its highest. I can only imagine what he does in U.S or Mexico, wherever he resides now. And although Robeisy is still young, what is he? 23 or 24 years old? He's got a lot of mileage and when you listen to him speak he sounds almost punch drunk. I know he used to drink a lot in Cuba. So just to resume this, he's an exceptional talent with exceptional skills, but his dedications, conditioning and discipline was a problem in Cuba but b/c the training staff there doesn't accept non-conformity he had to be in tip top shape for the most part. You can have all the skills and talent in the world, however, if you don't have conditioning it doesn't matter. There is a video of young Floyd Mayweather quitting against Paul Spadafora after 5 rounds cause he wasn't in shape.Comment

I get you, man. One gets taken in by appearances sometimes. We go against our better judgement. Don’t know if this kid will turn it around, but this obviously isn’t a good start. When he dropped I was like "****ing KIDDING ME?!?" I've been saying for years you can't judge an Amateur until his chin gets tested in his first pro fight (pros punch to hurt, wear smaller gloves, etc.) and the one time I go against my own rule and rate this kid highly, and he's dropped on the first damn punch!!

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Ramirez slacked in training. Sadly, a lot of these Cuban defectors have shown a tendency towards laziness. He looked completely uninterested. He did not appear prepped for the pro game at all. He has talent, but he has a lot of work to do. I was shocked by his lack of basics. No Jab, Swinging Wildly, Pulling Straight back etc.
He looked like just any other fighter fighting in his pro debut. No special effects.Comment

Yes, it happens on occasion. That has been established. But it’s far from the norm. And when it happens it’s a shock. I’m not saying Ramirez’s career is over, but it doesn’t look nearly as promising now.Comment
