And Matchroom risks their most lucrative fight in history over a couple million. Is that smart to you?

I believe that is what Al Haymon and the PBC is hedging their bets on by constantly delaying and postponing this rematch for as long as they can. Once the sanctioning bodies start calling in those mandatories; Then that's when Al comes in to make the Wilder vs Ruiz bout for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

The WBC and WBA are already on record saying they are down for it. Also, the WBO since it's organization is a spawn of the WBA is down for it too.
You clearly don't get how it works. Hearn will take out an injunction and stop Ruiz fighting, he won't get a license. The governing bodies respect rematch clauses.

Yes, Hearn can request a court injunction against Andy Ruiz from fighting but there is no guarantee that he would get one.

The court has to hear arguments from both sides before they decide to rule on that motion.

if the contract stipulated a rematch clause that specifies location/money and fatboy doesn't honour the arrangements then legal battle is the way forward. pretty sure the lewis/rahman rematch stuff was going the same way till things were taken to court, rahman came running then!

aj has money, his stock has taken a hit no doubt but he already have big money in the bank. eddie should force ruiz into the rematch or make him retire from boxing.

It really comes down to who holds their nerve. If Ruiz is just trying to bluff his way to a few extra million then it's smart but if he's willing to go to court and loses he will lose a lot in legal fees so I hope Andy is not biting off more than he can chew with this one.

They are probably covered tbh, court would take future proceeds from Ruiz too and let’s be honest if Joshua has to fight someone else he probably could still make a huge amount?

I think if Hearn has decent lawyers which you would think he does then the contract would be watertight.

If David Haye made 5 Million for his first fight against Tony Bellew, then Ruiz Junior should be making at-least 12 million.

I'm not talking about AJ. I'm talking about Matchroom. Their interests are different than AJ's. AJ could retire today and be good. Matchroom still has to promote and make money.
