I think he's just indicating his not just talking by getting a lawyer.
If that whole thing actually gets to court I'll be surprised.
And did anything already get resolved with that cuz the other day Ryan got a fight so I assumed everything was cool. Or at least I wouldn't expect him to keep fighting if it wasn't cool after he's been sitting for 5ish months or w/e already.Comment

But Diaz freelanced on the IBF mandatory negotiations and ****ed up, so how professional are they really?Iole said DLH has THIN skin and doesn't take well to criticism and has held grudges with Iole for years at a time for not liking what was said about him.
But I mean if DLH truly is off the wagon again and isn't even showing up to Canelo's pressers, then he isn't needed at all. Gomez and Diaz on the other hand are professional and have held it down at GBP for years.
I'm still not fully understanding what lawsuit Garcia will be pursuing here. Like we don't know what his deal states, but still I have a hard time seeing him having a case here. Though if GBP did have over a million license fee for the card and the card did over 150k in gate, getting 50k is a horrendous payday. Not sure what that was all about.
If I had to guess, Ryan Garcia's lawsuit will largely be built on seeing what the costs will likely be to get out of that deal that got him $50k on a show that likely had a $1.3m pot before figuring out expenses.
Use his leverage, accept the possibility of having to sit out for a bit, but hopefully Golden Boy comes to an understanding that let's them retain their developing fighter.Comment

Need to check the timelines, but it may not actually be DAZN trying to force Alvarez-Golovkin 3 yet.Maybe that is the answer honestly, For DAZN to Step in and rework his deal making it separate from GBP and giving him Full Control of his money and his Own Promotion
With DAZN trying to force him to fight GGG again, he probably not too happy with the entire DAZN situation all together
Canelo got his deal, and then Golden Boy (allegedly unbeknownst to Canelo), leveraged Canelo's name and the promise of the third fight to secure their own 50-date (10 dates over 5 years) deal with DAZN.
If DAZN then used Oscar's word to raise their offer to top the Top Rank/ESPN offer to Golovkin and put themselves in jeopardy by allegedly guaranteeing the fight to Golovkin, it's a decent chance that Alvarez and DAZN could be good.
Eat whatever legal damages for making a promise that they couldn't deliver (with Golovkin only seeing $15m of the alleged $100m, and that fight doing what it did, DAZN could simply offer to void the deal and put Golovkin back on the market, but I doubt Golovkin and his camp will want that, so expect a renegotiation there), and clear the deck, so to speak.
The Golden Boy content deal was negotiated in bad faith (so expect a haircut there too), but this could work outComment

Look at it this way, without Canelo they would quite likely have barely 100k or so subscribers and would be completely laughed at in the states. Not saying they are super popular or anything, but Canelo at least gets DAZN's name and product out to the viewing public. When they try to bid on other sports rights, they would likely have no shot if they never signed Canelo.
But no doubt Skipper didn't think there would be THIS many issues getting the fights he wanted.Comment

Then that might go against the Ali Act which could really make things Ugly! Ali Act wording can be so damn confusing so would need a Lawyer for that

Certainly seems like he has out grown GBP. And really no shame in that. At one point DLH had out grown TR and went on to start his own promotional company. Obviously Mayweather did something similar, though at the time he split with TR, he wasn't near the star that Canelo is right now. Became one shortly after though.Comment

Agreed. I was literally going to compare it to ODLH leaving Arum. Canelo can make just as much money individually as he can as part of GBP machine, why pay Oscar, Gomez etc “X” amount when you can have all that revenue for yourself.Certainly seems like he has out grown GBP.
