Canelo doesn’t want that fight but now DAZN is playing games trying to force a GGG fight by not approving anyone else.
Oscar and Floyd left Top Rank at the height of their popularity. Time for Canelo to take control of his own destiny.
If Oscar give a verbal commitment isn't that binding in this sorta agreement?

And honestly I can't fault DAZN for "playing games" cuz they didn't know they were playing a game at all lol. Oscar said GGG was a future opponent. And DAZN was calling in that opponent as they should be.

Golden Boy is the ones who f#cked up majorly here as I see it & from whats being said thus far.

But yea I've been saying for YEARS Canelo needs to be on his own &/or hire a promoter on a fight by fight basis. There is zero reasons for the guy who is boxing to have a promotion thats smaller than his name at this point.

Canelo with any promoter would be like the Charlo brothers signing with some small promoter in Austin, TX. They are worldwide & bigger than that small time promoter & he's not gonna do sh^t for them if they are more famous then the promoter. Same deal, but on a bigger stage for Canelo. Canelo is bigger than Golden Boy, specifically in recent years. Canelo need to call Al Haymon.

Idk that this has anything to do with GGG at this point. DAZN thought they had a deal with GBP that Canelo would fight GGG. And DAZN therefore promised GGG he'd get his chance to fight Canelo again.

The problem in this equation has nothing to do with GGG or DAZN. It has to do with GBP not telling Canelo what the specifics of the deal they signed were.

Again idk that DAZN is involved with any problem here. DAZN got a agreement from GBP, who owns the promotional rights to Canelo, that Canelo would fight GGG a 3rd time on DAZN. DAZN is just assuming, as anyone would, that GBP were representing Canelo's wants & needs & they apparently weren't.

To me it sounds like GBP was desperate for a deal & were either hoping Canelo would turn around on his GGG feelings or GGG being an older cat would lose before DAZN would call in that fight.

Networks have always had some veto power. Idk why that is getting mentioned so much with DAZN. HBO would turn down fights & have beefs with fighters over opponents too.

Yea I'd be curious exactly what was in the contract cuz if GGG's name is in there idk how this got overlooked by Canelo. Either Canelo's lawyer/management is half assing it or he did the noob mistake of allowing his promoter to look over the deal & in that case he reallllllllly is too trusting of GBP.

And sh^t man thinking more about this if it was in the contract Canelo might be f#cked & have to sue his lawyer/management if he told them to disclose details like he'd have to fight GGG again & they didn't tell him.
Yep I hear ya...really going to be interesting to see how this all plays out...it's hard for me to see Canelo walking away from all that DAZN money, even if he is able to...interesting times though

Team Canelo all day. He’s the reason why boxing is alive.
Canelo works for DAZN, they want the biggest **** for their investment. Not sure what makes a GGG 3rd fight a fight to push for or for any real actual fan of the sport to not want to see. The fact you think Golovkin got his azz beat in either fight shows everyone here exactly what we need to know..becuase aside from the first three rounds in fight #2 you cannot make that claim at all. There are 21 other rounds that were close as hell..and more than half of those rounds were arguably won by Golovkin in the first fight if you want to give Canelo any parts of the second fight which conveniently none of the Canelo die hard fans ever want to talk about.

It is binding and it's a breach of contract if what was promised cannot be delivered. They could come for the jugular in court, seek damages for a number of reasons and even completely stall GBP and Canelo's ability to fight or put on shows entirely which would be destructive. At this point Canelo needs to go sit down with them, try to work something out, find out what the earliest opt out is for him or honor the contract. I'm sure anyone forking over 300 million plus bucks has a contract that favors them in every single way.

Yea I can't imagine any party would be looking forward to walking away from the deal. Canelo has the biggest deal in boxing. Golden Boy gots extra dates off of this deal. And DAZN still needs content & Canelo is the best content in boxing.

Although if GGG isn't going to be a part of this deal you could argue Canelo shouldn't be getting as much money cuz the Canelo vs GGG III fight is still one of the biggest fights to be made in boxing & thats a big L for DAZN to not be able to secure it.

Beyond that Oscar needs to start sucking Vergil Ortiz's **** cuz that might be their main guy by a mile soon.

Yeah that GGG-Canelo fight still does $100 million dollars probably so DAZN needs that fight I think to justify the rest of GGG and Canelo's purses.

Lol I need to check that Ortiz guy out I guess...never really looked into him but have been hearing a lot about him lately.

Canelo can make more money without DAZN. Might as well go on his own.

Yes, things have really soured between Alvarez and De La Hoya to the point; Where Oscar is now throwing his cash cow under the bus in favor of his matchmaker.

I believe a separation and a change of scenery would do Saul Alvarez just fine; Perhaps, he should buy out his contract with both Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN altogether and sign with Top Rank and ESPN instead.

I would say the PBC. However, Al Haymon does not have the same amount of creative and artistic autonomy over its boxing content on the Fox's Sports network or the Showtime's boxing network that Bob has with ESPN.

He's a legit contender/future title holder imo. Definitely check out his fights. The last one was particularly surprising cuz Herrera doesn't get done like that & this was Ortiz moving up to 147, for hopefully just one fight cuz 140 with all these young bad ass cats should be lotsa fun over the next couple years.

Anyone know wtf that is about btw. That don't make no kind of sense to me. Maybe Oscar is all coked up & making sh^tty decisions.
