The big question I got in that whole thing is how did a agreement get made by Oscar & DAZN about GGG being a part of the deal if Canelo had to sign the deal. Did Canelo's lawyer & management overlook that part? Is the guy who saw that GGG was a part of the deal a GBP employee as is a often used trick for new signees? Or was this not even in the contract & it was just a handshake thing between Oscar & DAZN? And if thats the case is a handshake deal between those two binding as far as Canelo is concerned?

Also how is it that DAZN & Canelo got a deal, but part of Canelo's allegedly $350M or w/e goes to GBP undercard fighters?

This is sounding less like a DAZN & Canelo deal & more like a DAZN & GBP deal & maybe Canelo wasn't even involved THAT much.

Regardless of the specifics its clear Canelo needs to do his own thing cut off from GBP. If that does or doesn't involve DAZN that will all need to get sorted out afterwards, but I'm betting their is some way to get out of this GBP deal & Canelo should be doing that cuz Oscar is f#cking up Canelo's sh^t.
From what I have read the dispute is from the fact that it isn’t written into the contract. Sounds like Oscar gave a verbal commitment to get his GBP side deal with DAZN.
Then Skipper went to GGG to say they could get him the Canelo fight only with DAZN.
Canelo doesn’t want that fight but now DAZN is playing games trying to force a GGG fight by not approving anyone else.
Oscar and Floyd left Top Rank at the height of their popularity. Time for Canelo to take control of his own destiny.

What is insane in all of these stories, leaks and tweets is that DAZN Canelo did not seem to have conversations with Canelo directly before they signed him to a 10 fight deal that paid 350 million dollars.

How did Skipper and DAZN not know how Canelo felt about GGG? How do you have conversations with dude and not ask him about a third fight? Or ask him what his wishlist is for the next year or two?

Did Skipper just mishear something said by Oscar as both started doing bump after bump?

Always talking about him? Lmao. Estas pendejo. You must be a fa9 because you’re hurt by the facts that I stated.

GBP is relevant because of Canelo. GBP/Oscar ain’t shyt without Canelo. Fax.

My guess is there were some specifics written in detail in the deals...but also there were a lot of assumptions from all sides.

              1) Oscar assumed Canelo would fight GGG if and when DAZN told them too...he assumed DAZN was paying Canelo so much money that Canelo would be more or less happy to do what they say, within reason

              2) GGG assumed DAZN could force the fight with Canelo

              3) DAZN assumed Canelo would take the fight with GGG if and when they came calling...they were paying him too much money

It is pretty clear that DAZN has some veto power on who Canelo/its fighters, fight. Maybe there is some language in the deal that says that DAZN can force a Canelo fight at Canelo's weight class, if said fighter has a belt.

But yeah honestly we could all have access to all of the contracts these guys signed...and we still wouldn't really know what the F was going on, with all the legalese involved.

Kind of a fascinating if not sad situation going on though

Well business is business & idk that Skipper & Canelo ever met for business if GBP was the only one doing the work here.

I know when you sign away your promotional rights you are at the mercy of a well meaning & open promoter with giving you the specifics at the mid to lower levels of the sport, but Canelo is the biggest name in the game & I'd think he &/or his direct reps would be in these sorta deal making meetings.

And if not this just strengthens my belief any name cats in boxing shouldn't sign with a promoter cuz if the #1 guy is getting effed by his promoter by them not disclosing details then EVERYONE can get effed.

You can't f#cking do that doe. You can't tell one side one thing & not tell the other side that part of the deal. I would think thats ground for a breach of their agreement & would at least make Canelo buying out of his deal easier & cheaper.

                  2) GGG assumed DAZN could force the fight with Canelo
Idk that this has anything to do with GGG at this point. DAZN thought they had a deal with GBP that Canelo would fight GGG. And DAZN therefore promised GGG he'd get his chance to fight Canelo again.

The problem in this equation has nothing to do with GGG or DAZN. It has to do with GBP not telling Canelo what the specifics of the deal they signed were.

                  3) DAZN assumed Canelo would take the fight with GGG if and when they came calling...they were paying him too much money
Again idk that DAZN is involved with any problem here. DAZN got a agreement from GBP, who owns the promotional rights to Canelo, that Canelo would fight GGG a 3rd time on DAZN. DAZN is just assuming, as anyone would, that GBP were representing Canelo's wants & needs & they apparently weren't.

To me it sounds like GBP was desperate for a deal & were either hoping Canelo would turn around on his GGG feelings or GGG being an older cat would lose before DAZN would call in that fight.

It is pretty clear that DAZN has some veto power on who Canelo/its fighters, fight. Maybe there is some language in the deal that says that DAZN can force a Canelo fight at Canelo's weight class, if said fighter has a belt.

Networks have always had some veto power. Idk why that is getting mentioned so much with DAZN. HBO would turn down fights & have beefs with fighters over opponents too.

Yea I'd be curious exactly what was in the contract cuz if GGG's name is in there idk how this got overlooked by Canelo. Either Canelo's lawyer/management is half assing it or he did the noob mistake of allowing his promoter to look over the deal & in that case he reallllllllly is too trusting of GBP.

And sh^t man thinking more about this if it was in the contract Canelo might be f#cked & have to sue his lawyer/management if he told them to disclose details like he'd have to fight GGG again & they didn't tell him.
