That's because a purse bid "usually" dictates 35% to the mando...and you're out of your mind if you think SD deserves 35% of a canelo purse. I don't blame Canelo honestly...you can say its the rules, but it's not a fair rule and SD suffered for trying to play his cards like an idiot. Canelo, Pac, and Floyd all brought high income to fights... then never gave 35% splits to people afaik. People took 3-5 mil and were happy because they knew they didn't make it a "mega fight". From what's reported SD was offered 5.5 mil wanted 7 mil and Canelo's team said no. That being said if he doesn't make 7 million to fight GGG he looks like a duck and/or idiot because he's not some important figure in the division to demand 7 million.

the ibf isnt the only title canelo has and he had for 3 months only, they should be the last in line if any... why is serg being rushed when he lost not long ago for the same title? i will like to know exactly which rule rushed him into another title shot so soon...

If you look at the IBF rankings it may shed some light. Who else could fight for the vacant title?

According to IBF rules, Canelo had a thirty day grace period after Winn the title to request a VOLUNTARY defense.

If his team had simply made that request in time, he wouldn't have been stripped, he wouldn't have even gotten into the purse bid situation.

That's part of the reason why Canelo is angry with GDP.

This issue is not the fault of Derevyanchenko, Canelo, or the IBF.

It is the fault of Golden Boy Promotions. Their incompetence/negligence lead to this situation.

Would be nice to see G with the belt again. I don't think Dervy would be a massive challenge, but I wonder if he manages to KO him or get the points. If he KOs him, Canelo will temporarily move to the Moon and will wait for GGG's 40th birthday. I'm sure it will be a hell of a party.

ibf have been trying to *** canelo since day one, they tried to fix it later to save face but it was more than evident... but i do agree on negligence on the side of GBP, that didnt help canelos case either...
