    Is Alvarez's Resume Overrated?

I'd say his best wins are GGG, Jacobs, Cotto and Lara. These were hard fought good wins but not really memorable (no kd's, ko's or beat downs)(IMO)
After those you've got Trout and an early KO of Kirkland, which are solid.
Mosely's an impressive name but Shane was over 40 and I guess Chavez Jr was an OK win but he was weight drained.
Alvarez has wins over guys like Cintron, Hatton, Angullo and Lopez but I don't rate those wins that high.
Alvarez has over 30 wins in Mexico but none that strike me as great.
A record of 52-1-2 is impressive but if you realize that over 30 of those fights were in Mexico and how few really good wins over top fighters Alvarez has (IMO) his resume is a good, solid one, nothing great.

Those aren't exactly easy guys to beat. His resume is overrated when compared to what current boxers?

I had Lara beating him, and GGG beating him, but Canelo still has one of the best Resume's in the world.

It’s good, Golovkin, Jacobs, Lara, Cotto is a good resume, especially having Golovkin in there. People that say a fight like the Lara one is a robbery are ****** ***bois who probably never bothered to even sit down and score it.

Mosley, angulo, kirkland, chavez etc are throwaway wins not worth anything.

how come a prime canelo can't get a decisive win against any top ranked opponent?????? ggg and lara both should have won, jacobs fight very close, struggled against an older smaller war torn cotto, trout fight should have been a draw etc. etc. all other great fighters have at least that one or two great decisive no controversial wins. not canelo.

what makes him such a great fighter future hof'er ATG mexican legend????

Alvarez' resume is good. But its not really an ATG resume. And all of it are close competetive fights that could have gone either way. Many consider the GGG fight a robbery, Lara a robbery, Jacobs was close, Trout was close. He doesn't have the "wow" factor of an ATG, he just slightly breezed as a HoF material though.

When you hit the big time you will only see 2 elite guys trying to outskill each other. Just ask ggg who was able to KO everyone of his easy oponents with ease but he hit a brick wall once he stepped up because he only knew how to win by KO. Alvarezs resume is totally impressive as they come, stop hating

He’s had at least 3 gifts (Lara and GGG 2x) and barely squeaked by Trout. He has somehow managed to avoid Charlo and Andrade at two weight classes now.

Yes. I'd say he has the second most overrated resume in boxing right now, just behind Loma. Despite all of the hype and talk of how much he's improved over the years, Canelo has still never beaten a top ranked opponent decisively. Even when he's juiced to the gills and in the prime of his career, he still can't beat 97G without controversy.
