Skipper was under the illusion that Canelo would relent and fight GGG. He should have had it in writing. I am a subscriber but the guys like me are a given. The job of a promoter is not to entice the diehards. They are already on board. The streaming services are still relatively in their infancy. These next few years wil be interersting.Comment

As I said, I haven't heard it. Heard him push for Danny when he signed with Hearn, this is the first I've heard him even say Andrade's name. He doesn't have the same energy for all his fighters it seemsComment

This is a strange time for boxing matchmaking as far as huge name stars go. Wilder/Ortiz is not official yet, even though everyone says it is going to happen. Ruiz/Joshua is not official yet, even though everyone says it is going to happen. The biggest King maker in boxing- =Canelo- not only cannot find a dance partner, but is in a peeing contest with his promoter over losing a strap, which also lost the huge sanctioning fees that came with stripping the King maker. Golovkin has no one to fight, even though he says he wants to get back to three fights a year with his new trainer.
Just strange happenings. I know it all works out, but...strange.
When he is not fighting or cha$ing Canelo for a fight he and his team have perfected the art of finding the bottom of the barrel opponents to fight.
He will always have options not just the ones that are LIVE not called Canelo.Last edited by slimPickings; 08-04-2019, 11:01 PM.Comment

Not arguing. But my point was Golovkin never has problem getting the opponents he wants (Canelo aside, of course) because he brings dollars to those opponents. He made a big deal about getting back in the ring quickly with his new team after Rolls, and.... nothing. Not even a rumor.Comment
