Hearn is a real piece of work. Denies the fight for September to try and force a Canelo/GGG fight. Canelo would have been exempt from the IBF as a unification would trump a mando. Now that Dervy priced himself out he wants to make this fight?
You're right. Even his pitch for the fight seems pretty weak when you think about how other promoters scream for their fighter.
He works for DAZN who doesn't want Canelo to lose fighting a fighter with a small fanbase. Not saying Canelo would get beat but it's a real possibility. Andrade should dump Hearn if he doesn't get this fight.
That's more then enough fight's to become Undisputed at 160.
He should just say he's only fighting the best guy's at 160 only.
Fight a Champion then a mandatory then another Champion then another mandatory & sprinkle in a couple more victories over GGG & before you know it the 10 fight contract is over. Then figure out your next big move.
CANELO has a great shot at becoming Undisputed at 160 & cementing his status as #1 P4P, plus his competition will be way tougher then all the other top P4P fighter's competition, so he'd get more credit for his Undisputed reign at 160.
Who else is Canelo even going to pick at this point? He's only got so many more bridges he can burn before he's out of options. He should just take it while the going's still good.
Things at dazn are in total shambles. Even Kevin Iole wrote an article on it that was on American yahoo top articles
Thanks Oldskool, excellent article. Thing would have been worse for DAZN if Wilder did sign one of their supposed "no strings attached" offers. They would have paid him 20 mil for Breazeale and then have the deal go up in smoke when "old glass jaw" got knocked out! Those deals were contingent on both guys winning their respective tuneup fights.
