If Canelo fought GGG or Kovalev he would’ve been stripped anyways

Only the Unification with Andrade would’ve saved him from losing the IBF belt and of course DAZN didn’t approve Andrade until the tragedy unfolded... smh

Fighting GGG does not exempt the IBF mandate. Fighting Kovalev also doesn’t exempt the IBF mandate.

GBP was juggling various negotiations at the time. The Kovalev and Andrade bouts were always more meaningful to Canelo’s strategy and resume vs fighting a guy that Jacobs had already beaten.

Haymon knew all of this. PBC knew DAZN and GBP wouldn’t even go to Purse Bid for splits. Devrenchenko... they trolled wanting a high premium based on the old IBF purse split+

Yeah maybe but I don’t know that. I’m thinking that if he hadn’t blown off September he was gonna skate.

It's OK. Everybody knows Canelo is the real IBF middleweight champion. He beat Jacobs not long ago and Jacobs beat Dervy not long ago.. The IBF should not have forced him to fight Dervy so soon. They should have waited at least a year and Dervy should have done something really good to be a mandatory again.

Yes he would have still lost the belt fighting either GGG or Kovalev. Dervy should not even have been a mandatory so soon. Canelo had just beaten Jacobs in May and Jacobs beat Dervy not long before that. Why should Canelo have to fight Dervy so soon after just beating the guy who beat Dervy.

everyone says that, but who would you rank ahead of him?

              Culcay?

              Korobov?

              who?
