Women’s boxing shouldn’t be the reason I’m subscribing, so I don’t care who Clarissa shields is fighting, it doesn’t help showtimes case.

ShoBox is fun, but the formula is to put a future star in a fight that will showcase them and not be close. I need more than that.

Broner-Redkach is another joke. No one cares about that fight.

Wilder-Ortiz 2 is PPV so I can buy showtime for a month and order the PPV. It’ll cost me $90 instead of $80. That’s probably the first showtime worthy main event mentioned in this thread and it’s happening near the end of the year.

If Russell-Santa Cruz happens I’ll give a standing ovation but I’m confident it won’t happen.

Claresa Shields fights there as does the ShoBox crew a lot of good up and comers.

I think their up coming schedule is Shields in August, Broner-Redkach in Oct, Wilder-Ortiz 2 in Nov and possibly Santa Cruz-Russell Jr. Santa Cruz in Sep I think without Russell and maybe in Dec if vs Russell.

Showtime not dead at all but it will die IF they don't incorporated CBS

Sorry but the Sport of Boxing is not popular enough to be on exclusively on Premium Channels or a APP. This sport needs to be on ESPN and Fox for more exposure to a new audience

It's not exclusively on Premium and Apps although it was no problem when it was just HBO, SHO and ESPN.
SHO has between 2-3 cards a month. I think that is more than enough. The ShoBox cards are usually more competitive than the PBC cards and SHO tho.

they may have had to overpay wilder for the last fight...and it probably hur their budget...but hes worth investing in..and theyve brought him so far

its only a matter of time before their investments in tank and wilder pay off if things keep going right
Wilder can turn into a wasted investment rather quickly.

I'm pretty close to cancelling my subscription.

What I don't get is.... it's abundantly clear that Haymon is only passing a handful of fights to them due to Fox, FS1, etc providing greater exposure, but isn't their yearly budget predetermined? Why are they not televising more cards from other promoters??

They used to be THE place to see fights that don't get televised in the US. Buy the rights to some fights from abroad if everyone else is locked in exclusive in the US.

The overall popularity of the sport no question has dropped here in America at least

UFC Events gets more attention than boxing like it did last night, this is something boxing fans are in denial about

yup....but what investment in the sport cant turn into that with a bad night?

surely wilders overall skill level would lend him to being more susceptible.....but wilders ability/style also makes him a commodity even with a loss....because hes always looking to put someone in their rear end

bottom line here though is this...anyone associated with floyd is always having a predicted downfall

whether its the pbc or showtime...if ur associated with haymon, who is associated with floyd, your donwfall is always predicted....yet they are all still standing

It's actually been on the rise the past few years and MMA has been om a slow decline. MMA (or UFC) peaked a few years ago. It peaked at a time when boxing was maybe at it's lowest point in years.
More people talk about boxing today then they did in say 2013.
